Hi all

I emailed atlas about the problems with Idearco and after a conversation with Idearco atlas had last week the upshot was this Idearco are waiting for permission from the town hall to put the machinery on site to finish the road, and contrary to the rumors Diego hasnt been sacked he,s just been moved to another site at Rafal. Hope this is reassuring it was for us

Hi All,

I was always told (By Idearco) that the road was a joint venture between Iderco and Local authority so hopefuly the local authority will push for the road to be done.

Hi All

Just back from viewing our apartment on esc 5, very worrying the front main complex  door entrance of esc 5&6 was open, when we arrived we were able to walk in of the street, the door has also been smashed and the lock doesn’t work .  The builders are aware of it, but not sure when it will be fixed. I have told the solicitor not to complete until the door is fixed and secure. According to my solicitor, they have heard nothing about the Idearco being in any financial difficulty. Otherwise the apartment is really nice, a few snags but not to many. The weather was gorgeous. Hopefully it will all work out.

Hi All

we are carol and fred,, who live here permanently, yes the state of the complex is a worry, idearco has only 1 worker now, andre, who im afraid does not speak english, and who 'disapears' a lot.

We look after apartments here, and we have given him our clients snagging list, to date no sign of anything being done. we also have spoken with our solicitor, who says that idearco told him it will all get done, just seems a question of when.

i think the more people that ask their solicitors to contact idearco, the better really  as it may make them put some people back on site and get the work finished. nothing has been done since january.

hope this helps, dont worry too much it is still nice and everyone is really friendly. look forward to meeting you all.

regards

carol and fred

hi all

my wife has just come back from our apartment (vegamar)

and brings good news, idearco's funds are tied up in other projects , and the banks are not lending big money out ,something do with the election of a new president , which should be over very soon, then work should begin on the road and other snagging lists,

this should be done sooner rather than later. also if idearco fail to come up with the goods then atlas have to finish off the project

this sauce comes from a resident who checked it all out through his solictor and atlas

fingers crossed yeah

hi limetree

yeah i asked that question too ? but it seems that the majority of sales were through atlas, sumthing to do with losing thier licence if they dont ,

i am not too worried now ,as i think idearco will come through in the end

i am over myself end of this month so will know 1st hand what is really happening and will keep all informed ,

but at the end of the day we don't know for sure whats hear say or not but my source seems very confident

Hi All,

we dont like to bring bad news, but not sure which resident said that atlas had to finish off, and that idearco had no money worries, andre and his boss the last 2 workers for idearco have just been laid off (yesterday)  and now there is no one working on site at all.  our neighbour also went through atlas and went to see his solicitor, but he was not told that atlas would finish the site, so its all a little confusing. as i said we live on the site permanently and have not heard this, but it would be nice if it is correct.

diego, the original site manager, told us a couple of weeks ago that all 20 out of 22 site  workers at idearco had been laid off, so thats not to encouraging, especially if andre and his boss were the last two. all we can do really is wait and see if anything gets done

hope to have some better news for you all soon

all the best

carol and fred.

Hi one and all,

I think its about time we face up to facts, that Idearco have taken our money, and are not interested in finishing off Vegamar. I have had a report of another development (not Idearco) where they have no electric supply as they were on builders supply; the development was left unfinished, and no administrator was set up.

Not having the road is a pain, but come the summer it will be the dirt that will be the problem, and a health risk using the pool. Even when Diego was on site last summer, there were still a lot of ear infections that people picked up from the pool.

Does anyone agree that perhaps we need to approach an independent solicitor to look at the situation as a body of owners, and if worse comes to worse what we would need to do to set up our own owners committee.

I have been told that if the builder goes under before he hands over to an administrator it can be a big problem trying to track down and contact all the owners, as many will only be using there apartments as a holiday home as we are.

I am not trying to broadcast doom and gloom, but I really think we need to deal with this now together as later may be too late.

I would love to have others thoughts and views on this!!!

All the best..

John

Hi John

I think your suggestion is a valid one but before we consider going down that route would it be possible for someone who is based there on a permanent basis to call into either the Atlas or Iberian office in Torrevieja and ask them what exactly is going on as they appear to have been the main agents involved in selling the aparments.  When we were on our inspection trip i was told by the Iberian guide that a few of his colleagues in either Atlas or Iberian had purchased apartments in Vegemar.  In hindsight this may just have been a ploy to make me feel more comfortable about buying i.e. knowing that the agents empoyees had bought there also.  I have tried to contact Iberian in Torrevieja several times by phone and e-mail over the past few weeks but without success.  If i don't get any response within the next week i am going to contact the MD of Iberian in the UK with a letter of complaint, maybe if any one else who has purchased through this organisation does the same we might get a response if they are concerned about their reputation.

Regards

  Hi All,

We too will be talking to our solicitors to see if we can find out any more information, and asking guidance on where we go from here..

This was the response we had from Iberian in January; to me this is a very non-committal reply!

We have not herd from them since!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 "Thank you for your e-mail.

As far as we are concerned Idearco have not notified us of any financial difficulties. Like most builders as well as agents things are a little tight and all concerned are making necessary cutbacks.

Please be assured that should we receive any further information we will contact you accordingly.

Best Regards,"

HI All,

Have just read with interest all your comments. if it helps, there has not been any problems here with the electric and water, Also have been advised by lots of people that a commitee must not be set up until the site is complete, otherwise the commitee and residents end up with the cost of finishing off any uncompleted works.

this is the telephone number of the idearco office in alicante, that we have been given for any problems, maybe those of you who have not completed may get more news if you telephone them direct--628 443 852.

we do know that atlas in uk have been told by trading standards, over other sites, that they must take seriously any problems that their clients have when they purchase through them and they should take up the case for thier clients.

i have also contacted my solicitor but again, he had not heard of idearco having problems, he contacted them and they told him the site would be finished, so although things are not moving at the moment, things may not be as bad as they seem.  A lot of soliciotors are saying they have not heard of any problems with them, and usually here word gets around, so hopefully it is just a short term cutback.
