barry - thanks for keeping us informed.
For those quoting natural disasters, there'll always be someone worse off and easy to put things into perspective but give us all a break. The golf course has been a ray of hope for building up the resort, and so anything detrimental to its development is a nightmare particularly as we are heading into golf season...the way we see it, the more golfers spread the word, the more the resort will grow in popularity (rentals, property sales etc)..the town centre gets busier etc etc...and I assume all Ola's clubhouse funds will be now diverted to their primary asset...getting the golf course back up to "scratch"
The message is becoming clear on EOS, take your own time to improve life on the resort (whether it be golf, president of garden etc), be informative to those of us who aren't in Spain by means of updating this forum and get slagged off by people....what is the world coming to...
ptan, sonatigh, barry to name a few....keep up the good work and don't let the ******* get you down

Guy's,
We are all aware who can provide valued input into these posts and what is uneducated dross. Try to ingnore the verbal diarrhoea (love to see an attempt at that spelling from some of our illiterate friends) and just keep encouraging and giving credit to those that work hard on all our behalfs to keep us informed with actual truths.
Just a thought - are Olagolf not insured ??
Many thank's Barry, Ptan, Sonatigh.
Regards,

In driving back and forth off the resort over the last few days it was evident that work is ongoing on the golf course- unlike in the past when we all wondered if anyone was doing anything out there. Have been able to see individual workers and teams of workers doing repair work throughout the day.
Likewise on the resort gardeners and workmen have been around straightening up where they can, putting sand back in the play areas and tending to the inner ring road. Even saw one solitary worker on the outer ring road with a big brush and shovel which given the amount of sand and debris littered around that road and the blocked drains is going to take him a good few days to clear!!

When we were over last week there were gangs of workers both on the Golf Course, but especially in the Jardines. In fact, after a few sherbets the night before it can get a bit annoying at 8.30am every morning when they come into your jardine with all sorts of machines, but I am not complaining as the resort is really developing on the right lines.
One thing I would like to point out is under RPM you hardly ever seen anyone, thanks to the work done by our presidents this new company have come in for much less and appear to be doing much more, with the result that we are all paying less community fees. a win win situation all round I would think.
One small gripe I have and I wonder if anyone else has been affected, I have had the grass removed and extended the patio tiles. The extra area now has marks all over it caused ,probably by one of the gardeners machines. Can anyone shed any light on what has caused this, so I can arrange to stop it.
Cheers Dakey

Back to golf course news.
Just seen the head greenkeeper and he says course will open at 1.30pm today.
Bunkers and areas of sand on fairways will be GUR and we will have to play around workers as previously suggested.
It will take 6 to 7 weeks to repair the bunkers. A golf course construction company is needed to make these repairs.
Obviously they must be desperate for income as we will only have half a course to go at.
I wonder if the condition of the course will be reflected in the green fees?
Barry

Wow - amazed the course is opening again so soon - I really think we owe an apology to that guy who suggested course would be open in no time with bunkers as ground under repair and got dogs abuse for suggesting this (in a mildly lighthearted way)

Lots of people will be glad you were right.
Although it will still be a major disappointment for those travelling to play in the next couple of months. Free drops from bunkers on a course like CDA will take so much of the challenge/trouble out of the course. Hope it is repaired soon.
Expect to see some good scores in the society.

Is the course actually open. We are due over on 3rd sept hoping to play a few rounds.... I can live with a bit of GUR
I guess if people need more of a challenge go off the back tee's until everything has been resolved,
