Hi all,

We are looking into sorting lights for our penthouse appartment.

Can anyone advise us where the light fittings are within the kitchen/lounge area please? I seem to recall there is one in the kitchen, one as you come through the door, one above where a dining table may go and then one in the lounge area.

Any photos, diagrams or description would be most appreciated!

Thanks

Gavin & Michelle

Hi Gavin & Michelle,

There a quite a lot of lights fittings in the Penthouses.  Not quite sure why, think the Spanish might have thing about the dark.

Anyway, you are right in what you say so far.  The other light fittings are outside the bathroom between the 2 bedrooms.  There are 2 fittings in the bathroom, one on the ceiling and one where a light could go above a mirror, and then in each bedroom there are 2 fittings.  There is a also a fitting outside both patio doors for outside lights.

We got a guy called Steve to fit all of ours for us, (he is on the site as Endpeg). I think his number is 0034610073959.  He also got rid of one of the fittings in each bedroom and moved the remaining fitting to the centre of the room, which in our opinion made it look better.

Don't have any photo's sorry, but hope this is helpful.

Cheers

Simon

I am sure I have givedn you this info before !!!

In terms of low voltage spots you can put them everywhere EXCEPT in the lounge ceiling and the kitchen ceiling as this is concrete, so there you will need a multi plate spot with two or three bulb spread. The other rooms all have false ceilings which mean you can cut low voltage spots into them, when you arrive there will be loose wires hanging from the relevant points in the ceilings some guys have centres the spots in the room but we just fitted them where the cables were.

1 x Recessed spot in the hallway

1x Plate spot in the kitchen

1x Plate Spot in the Lounge

2 x Recessed spot in the front bedroom

2 x Recessed spot in the rear bedroom

2 x Recessed spot in the bathroom + wiring for extractor fan

1 x Recessed spot in the hallway outside the bathroom

2 outside lights on the terrace  - wires are visible (we have these fitted but have never put them on !)

We paid Steve from Camposol  to do this and other handyman jobs for us  like putting up mirrors, cabinets and curtain poles – he is on EOS under the name “endpeg”  if you post on the Condado forum you will be bombarded with details of local sparkies as there are quite a few locally. You can buy all the kit down the road at Bricolage if you are handy with this sort of thing yourself

Good idea also to fit an extractor fan in the bathroom  - there are two spots in here but each on a separate switch which is odd as one works the light,  and the inside switch works the Extractor (if fitted) and the 2nd spot  - mad Spanish electric’s ??

Hi Gav and Michelle,

There are 13 lights in total including the outside 2 above each patio door -  the lights in  our apartment were from Wilkinson's.
