Hi there

I've just returned from Duquesa and I'm not really very happy to say that the problem of the noisy dogs has not been resolved.  There are three dogs and they reside at apartment 8.25.01. The owners have a large 4 x 4 station wagon registered number EF53 HCD.  The dogs are still resident on the premises.  What exactly has a Denuncia acheived other than to have the effect of hearing the owner of the aformentioned animals shout 'Shut up'  to them in a very loud aggressive voice.  I was disturbed at 2am by the sound of one of them barking.  And no, it's not the dogs on the other side of the valley barking.

Under Article 46 of the co-existence rules it states that under sub section VII part 10 that it is forbidden To have loose animals in the building.  Can I be enlightened as to why there are residents on the complex who don't seem to have abided by this ruling, or indeed, why they may have been exempt from it.

geann, I am actually living in DV at the moment and have a dog myself (who doesn't quite know how to bark!!) and can honestly say I haven't heard any dogs at all!  Block 8 is just to the left of us and I've never been disturbed by dogs barking, day or night.  I know of three other residents with dogs and have never known a problem (save for one of them never picking up after their dog!).  Is the person in block 8 resident here?

I have just returned from 10 mostly wet days in DV and was not distubed by the dogs this time , i have heard them in the past,  and they are right behind my place and I know who owns them. I have seen them walking the dogs, at least 4 of them. The message seems to have got through to the owners as there was a bit of a todo on here some time ago, and since then they have been OK.

I am sorry to hear that the issue is arising again. All we can do is follow procedures.

My thoughts are that with walking 4 dogs it will be difficult to pick up all their 'droppings' if they all go at once!!

To all those who have donated posts to this particular forum.

I am the owner of 8.25.01

Before you make a public post, make sure you get your facts right !!!  Yes I do have dogs and yes I have taken measures to ensure my dogs do not bark. (This was around a year ago)

We also hear these dogs barking and I can assure you it is NOT our dogs.  Just because these dogs are in the same block, it does NOT mean they are ours making the noise.  We also do not own a 4 x 4 station wagon registered number EF53 HCD.  I have never raised my voice to my dogs.  I can also imagine how annoying it must have been to be woken up at 2am, this again was not our dogs.

Also with regards to dog mess on the urbanisation, We walk our dogs in the campo outside of Duquesa Village Complex so it appears We are being wrongly accused for this as well.

We also want to live in harmony with our neighbours as you can imagine.

I also know exacly where this noise is coming from and we are concerned that we have been put in the firing line.

If you wish to send me a private message I will be only to happy to respond to you, or call you by phone.

Like yourselves We wish this matter to be resolved as quickly as possible (As we have put measures in place ourselves)  and of course understand how this is a nuisance for residents.

I have made a copy of all  the transcrips on this forum for my lawyer to keep on file.  As I mentioned before, I urge you all to make sure you get your facts right before making future posts on this subject.

Many Thanks and Kind Regards,

8.25.01 Duquesa Village

There are quite a lot of wild/abandoned dogs living in the surrounding campo.  Is this maybe the cause of the noise?  When I stayed at my parents' place in Coto Real (across the other side of the golf course to Duquesa village) we could always hear the stray dogs barking at night.  When one barks, they all seem to bark.

Chantal (8 25 01) ,                                                                                                                                                                                         wellcome to this forum,                                                                                                                                                                                      since you know who are those dogs that bark, say in the forum so that all may know, we know that your dogs are calmer now after allegations a year ago, we all want a quiet place and want to live in harmony with the neighbors, I'm glad that's your interest too, dogs opposite hill belongs to the people of Manilva ranging from poaching each day, sometimes alone and holidays with their owners, they can be seen on Sunday morning with a big scandal of noise, all of us can complain to the civil guard of Sabinillas, there are other dogs in a house next to the Vizcarronda in the bottom beside the river barking every night since they are alone and you can hear them away are heard even in Coto Real, this also must be reported by neighbors to eliminate the problem.

When in Spain in January I heard dogs barking most nights but these were resident in the houses high up the valley.  These are annoying but I just consider this to be an feature of Spain that has to be accepted.  Sometimes one hears the crow of a rooster in the distance also.

It reminds me of when staying in remote parts of Mexico  for a few days I was kept awake by dozens dogs,  roosters and donkeys. Just about every resident in the long valley had at least one of each of these three nocturnal noise makers.  My tour guide advised everyone to use ear-plugs and on the second night everyone did so.

So we cannot do anything about resident dogs up the valley.  But we can cut out a much more annoying nuisance which is the screaching of funiture on the marble floors.  Many owners have still NOT bought felt pads and many nights at 12:30 or so people return  to their apartments to start moving chairs around that sounded like violins being tuned.

It is really very selffsh of all of those who have done nothing in this.  .  Felt pads costs 2 euro to make the whole place silent.  Chairs with felt pads on their feet slide smoothly and siliently along the floor.  Chairs (and tables etc) moved around without felt pads can wake up a whole block.  Please please will all owners do something about this.  The racket  spoils my every stay and I am sure it must affect others too.

And the bonus is....... If you do put the felt pads on you chairs etc. you will stop your Marble floors from being scratched.

Marble believe it or not is a very soft stone unlike granite.
