Please be aware if you do transfers to the above bank in Duquesa that the IBAN and BIC codes have changed.

I spoke to their help line and I believe all their branches have changed to Grupo Popular codes, we should have been informed by post, I have not had this by post so far.

I found this out when my monthly transfer from the UK was rejected and my currency exchange agent told me the money transfer did not complete as usual.

Have just been in to the bank and asked about this change - they assured me that incoming transfers should not be affected and it was all automated!!

I'm expecting a transfer that was effected on 14th October and to date not arrived.  Think I'm going to check that one!!

Jan,

I think the numbers have changed with no overlap, I know of a number of rejections that occured with my currency trader.

I will know within a few days if the new IBAN etc. has been accepted.

Hi Jeff,

Yes, I'm not that optimistic that everything will "automate" smoothly!!  Will give it a few days and then contact my bank involved and give the new details.

Many thanks for the alert - has anyone actually received a letter from BdA about the change?  Would be interesting to know - we've received every other transaction note!!

Just an update on receiving transfers into BdA account - some funds that we had transferred using the old BIC and IBAN have arrived safe and sound!  It's obviously a bit hit and miss, but I can say that on this occasion the system did work!

But we have now given the new IBAN (which you can get if you log into internet banking - although for the life of me I can't now find it!!) for further transfers.

Thank you for letting me know about this.

I have emailed the bank and received my updated IBAN and SWIFT details.  They only took a day to reply which is fantastic, you can't even email your bank in the UK or telephone the local banch !!!!

Apparently they have sent out letters but I havent received them.  They say the old codes will work as well during the transition

Thanks again

Steve

This change in codes definitely seems to be stopping payments.  I wonder does someone know the new BIC Swiftcode for the Banco de Andalucia in Manilva please?

If you log into internet banking, go to current account, then enquiries and operations, and then you'll see a link to the IBAN/BIC for your account.  Any problems and below is the BIC and the IBAN details.

ES89 0075 3175 67(+last ten numbers of your account)

BIC/SWIFT:  POPUESMM

Hope this helps!

Edited to say:  we have received funds into our account using both the old and new IBAN/BIC with no problems - but then maybe we have just been lucky!

You are so good to get back to me so quickly.

I have been trying to deposit to an account and while the old IBAN seemed to work the old BIC Swiftcode was being rejected.  Isn't it a pity that banks don't at least publicise changes to Swiftcodes?

Many thanks.

Michael

You're welcome!  I must say, although the internet options for the bank aren't fantastic, they have come through for us so far with the "automated" transfers!  All the transfers we had arranged with both the old and new IBAN/BIC codes arriived without problem!

But, we certainly haven't received any post/email about the changes and it was only due to Jeff's (manilvajl) initial post that we were alerted to the change!!  So there are definite shortcoming's in the bank's communications!!
