Help and advice needed, please! We came to visit our recently purchased property for the first time last week  (2.6.1.1.) to find that we have no remote control for the garage/security barrier and no remote control for the air conditioning unit. The vendor never used the property and has never had either. Does anyone know how we can get hold of them? We're also looking for someone to install sky tv for us.

I have to say that we are thrilled to own on such a fantastic development - even our lawyer is jealous!

Regards,

Mary Clarke

Hi Mary

I believe AEA, the administrators, will provide another remote, at a cost (about 40 euros I think).  But not sure about the AC remote - if the previous owners say they never used the property, have you checked all the documents for the appliances, etc.?  Maybe the remote is tucked away somewhere.  If not, you may have to contact the AC unit suppliers.  Someone else may have a better idea.

I can recommend someone to install sky - PM me if you want his details.  I can say that friends of ours who own here brought over a spare box they had and wired it up themselves, no problem - maybe you have a spare box??

If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact me!

I think if you ask at AEA or even at security at the gate you will be able to sort out a garage remote and I think you can actually buy them at the ferreterias too and have security program them for you.  Our AC remote was in the oven along with the instructions to all of the appliances!  Congratulations and welcome on your purchase.  It is a lovely development.

PS we had an old sky box and card and it worked great for freeview.  We also take out our current sky viewing card when in DV and can get all of the channels we enjoy at home then.

Hi Mary

Welcome to Duquesa Village.

I obtained a second garage remote by ordering one through the AEA office in Duquesa Marina. The entrance is on the left under the Main entrance arch. From memory I had to order and wait around two weeks. i think they were already coded for the garage doors and at that time there were no barriers at the entrance. I paid 40 Euro's, however before ordering i would visit the DIY store next to Barclay's in Sabinillas as they may now be able to supply at a cheaper price.

Not sure about the A/C remote but you can operate the unit manually from the wall unit.

I had an old sky box installed by Kings that were in the little square by Becky's. They are no longer there but still have a website you will find this on the manilva life web site directory.

I will be out with some friends on the 27th so i'll say hello if i see you.

Have a good one.

Keith and Niki

Mary,

The Developer should have left a pack in the apartment that contained the remote plus all of the instruction books for the appliances.

I bought an extra remote from AEA - 46 Euros and supplied programmed by them within 24 hours.
