I'm thinking about restarting the regualar bi-weekly reports from Don Juan as the commitee keeps silent. I know they sent out irregular e-mail letters, but some people I know are refused to receive them because they voted wrongly at the last EGM. I don't get them as well on similar grounds, but of course people send them to me so I know what's in them.

The problem is that this a living community where things happen which should be reported to the committee who are then expected to take timely action. That process is hampered by this way of limited and selective communication. The people living here and the people visiting their apartments are the best informers as the committee is non-resident itself (except for Ana, but she rarely walks the premises). Without proper input the committee can't do it's work.

To start it off:
It's busy at the moment. The pools are really used, so it was a shame one was closed today. Most people are renters who have no clue about rules and no interest in obeying them so they just jump in the pool with all possible inflatables. I asked the maintenancy guys why they didn't tell people that it's not allowed as it could cost us our license but they answered they were instructed this was not their job.

The larger pool has new damages so there were a few children today with light or more severe wounds due to loose tiles. I discussed it with Paco and Raoul and showed them the problem areas and they promised speedy repairs. In reality that pool should have been closed for the day and the other one opened. I forgot to ask why the other pool was closed as well.

The DJ II pool is doing well. It's only accessible for keyholders and it's strictly closed for DJ I people but the pool is still full of people.  Good to see so many phase II owners.

The gardens of phase II have been declared prohibited for phase I owners. Tico is not happy executing these orders but he's forced to do so. Especially for the children it's a confusing situation.

All balconies are again full of laundry, but luckily there is not a lot of noise so far at night. On average I would say the situation is better than last year. People are behaving a bit better. I'm afraid August will be completely different. Already the pool areas next to the steps are turned in to mud; even I lost my balance walking next to the pool as the wooden supports sunk in the mud. We need both pools open, solve the mud close to the stairs and get rid of loose tiles to prevent more accidents.

The road situation has improved after the town hall stepped in and made some proper pedestrian crossings. We now only need a few speed bumps at the garage of block 2 and the entrances to the pools and we will have a proper temp solution.

As always there were a lot of people who locked them selves out. One tip: do remember to get out your key at the inside before closing the door. The older locks are unforgiving and won't allow an outside key to turn the lock then.

So far for today,

Max
