Hello to all owners of Don Juan,

We've heard about the first community meeting regarding Don Juan II.

Can anybody tell me about this meeting, has anybody visited this meeting?

And can you please tell us about the details on EOS?

Thank you in advance,

c.u.

Corrie

Hi all phase II owners,

I'll suggest that we start a new forum, due to the fact that I'm getting in bad mood, when I read the posts that are uploaded to many of the threads in this forum. And I hope that we can agree on having a constructive and polite debate in our community, not that I beleive that we all will agree on everything (nor should we), I just hope that we will work together to make a great place to live in (either as permanent recidence or as "holiday recidence").

Please comment on this, whether you agree or not, I respect all opnions and this is suggested in good faith.

I would like to thank all the phase I owners for all the contribution that you have provided, and I just hope that you can get alligned, when it comes to work together internally in Phase one, for us to be able to work together in the future. I'm into co-operation, however I would like it to be open and honest, and also respectfull when it comes to peoples effort and commitment to work for the community.

Hi Lars,

Just went back from a busy week at DJII, lovely weather, one day rain, but no time to enjoy it, but okay, it's all in the game.

2 of our sons joined us to help, that was great. It's furnished, but accessories are still missing and tv,dvd, tuner. Mondaymorning before leaving at 8 o clock the cleaning company came to clean our floor for 200 euros, that was perfect, because it was terrible, we used a lot of water, but did not succeed to clean it, now it's shiny.

He's called Pedro Zafra and did a good job. It was sad to leave before we could enjoy our furniture, we did not sit one minute on our outside furniture, bought it just before leaving! But.... we'll return end of July, so we can enjoy it.

Just a question, do you have the height of the living? I had it written down, want to have made curtains in Holland, but forgotten the note, clever is it?

If not I'll ask somebody of DJI, I think they will help me too.

Thanks in advance when you have to measures, the bedroom was 2,43 m., I had those curtains made already (in between, because don't really need to close)

Nice week,

Corrie

Hi corrie,

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time, even it was hard work (we had the excat same experience at our first trip there ).

Regarding the hight in the living room I can't remember, and I dont know if there is any difference from block to block.

Hope to see you in July if we are there at the same time.

Attention to all people of Don Juan II,

I've received a message from a Don Juan friend, he told me we had to arrange the water supply by Gestaqua before October 25th!

Gestaqua has an office near the trainstation of Los Boliches.

I sent them an email, because we are arriving the 25th of October and I don't want to be surprised having no water.

I will go to them the 26th and will ask them not to close the watersupply of Don Juan II, because many foreign owners are probably at home and not in Carvajal! I found  an emailaddress on the internet, hope all will work out well for all our neighbours!

Hi Corrie,

sorry for the information, the last day to fix up the water contract is 26th of October.

The address of Gestagua is Avenida Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo 43, Edif. Morfeo en Los Boliches, close to the market. Phone No. +34-952582068

I am sure, they won´t make problems.

Good luck,

José

Hi Jose,

Thanks very much for the address. All neighbours will be grateful to you for keeping us informed.

We will be in time (lucky us), hope the rest of our neighbours will also be able to manage their water.

I remember from DJI owners some of them had great trouble having no water at arrival!

Hi All,

To sign for your water you need a yellow document called the water bullitin. your passport NIE and bank details. In our case we did not have the water bullitin because our lawyer had kept it and signed for the water on our behalf without us even knowing it had happened.

Gestagua are keen to get people set up so will set deadlines. In phase 1 they did not fit the meters until a month after their deadline so there was a period of grace but if you have not signed for your water when they fit the meters you will have no water until you do.

Hi David,

Thanks very much for your explanation regarding Gestagua.

I had no idea, we needed our NIE and bankpapers for connection, so for us it is a great help and I guess for other habitants of Don Juan II too.

Kind Regards,

Corrie

The most important thing is the yellow bulletin like David says. It's a statement by the original plumber that everything is done according to standards. David mentioned NIE and preferably a copy of a recent Spanish bank statement. Be aware that you will also need a copy of your title deed otherwise your request will be denied. Make sure it's a copy because they want to keep it.

Max.

In case people in phase II don't know: you had your AGM a few weeks ago. It was on a Monday morning so there won't have been many attendants I'm afraid. Expect the minutes any moment as I understood they would be distributed within 30 days.

A cautionary note to DJ11 owners re water supply.  If you see anyone working on the water meters check you are still connected. Our solicitor arranged for our supply to be connected and confirmed this to us two weeks before we were due to spend a few days at the apartment and well before the deadline.

We arrived and had water so assumed that everything had gone through OK but on the Friday morning a man came from the company, didn't tell us what he was doing but said he'd have to switch the water off (in the main supply cupboard) but it would be on again in about 5 minutes.  We went out for the day and came back that evening to no water, and discovered that we had no water meter and therefore not connected.  Their offices are closed on Saturday so unable to connect anyone so no water for the weekend. First thing Monday morning about 8:30 am I hear our toilet cistern filling. Same man returns and connects our water meter. No explanation just the usual shoulder shrug.  We didn't contact anyone so can only assume that someone lost the paperwork - the meter man or the office - who knows.

Hello Spanish neighbours,

Hope you are all doing well and that the weather will get a bit better!

Can anybody tell me the exact route from the airport Malaga to our community through the alternative way.

Are we going in the direction Cadiz from the airport and then take the salida Mijas, or are there 2 salidas Mijas?

My sister will stay a few weeks in our apartment and I want to tell her the alternative route, because we think for new people our community is hard to find. I want to tell her about the new the way near El Higueron.

Thanks very much for your support!

Corrie

 Hi Corrie,

The directions to Don Juan by highway from the airport (or Malaga)

Coming from Málaga airport, you take the A7 in the direction of Cádiz. Keep going in the direction Benalmádena/Algeciras until you get to exit 217, that's called Benalmádena/Mijas. At the end of the exit you turn right. You go past a petrol station and a restaurant, and directly after that you keep to the left, going down the provisional road (there's a sort of porter cabin on the corner there from another developer). Be aware that you immediately have to go the left after passing the petrol station and restaurant El Higuerion. Don´t wait for a roundabout or whatever; just cross the road and pass along that cabin.

At the first roundabout you take the second exit (crossing over the highway), on the next roundabout you take the first road (no other possibility). Then keep following the curving road and on the third roundabout you go straight on. Keep to the right, going down an even more provisional road, which will take you up the the Don Juan development.

You pass the phase III building and then you to the right and park there or if you live in Phase II and have a garage key you go straight through down the road and enter the garage.

Max.

How did the January meeting go of phase II? Did anyone from EOS attend it?

Nuria (your president and the developers daughter) has refused the offer from Gemsat for communal dishes, because she didn´t want to provide concrete plinths on the roof at the cost your community. I wonder how she will find another provider who will install communal Sky and other European dishes for free like we have.

All the earlier quotes I asked for when I was vice-president were quite high. As I recall the lowest from a Spanish provider was 13.000 Euros (for ten blocks instead of five in your case), but he wanted extra for these concrete plinths at well.

The first garden is already decked with wood which as far as I know is also forbidden in your master title deed. But as Nuria and her sister are not very strict on rules I assume everything will be allowed. There are already multiple dishes, different colour awnings and different solutions to glaze the balconies.

Your monthly costs however are much lower than the phase II costs.

Max.

Hello all neighbours,

I've heard great news:

The road to the trainstation will be paved this week?

We're very glad, because it was quite muddy in February.

Kind regards and better weather than in Holland (9 degrees),

Corrie
