We thought it important that you know not just who we are but also want we want to try and achieve so have agreed the following which has been sent by e-mail in Spanish and English as well as being posted here:
Dear Neighbour
To ensure that the community is run in accordance with the wishes of the owners we the undersigned have decided to offer our services as a team to run the Don Juan Community for the next year.
We are a multi cultural community and want to work together in harmony and mutual respect to make Don Juan the best place it can be for all of our neighbours.
There is much to be done and these are just some of things we are proposing:
· Drive down costs by competitive tendering of services
· Improve standards by active management of service providers
· Improve communication with owners by having a working website; much better use of notice boards and a written update at least every quarter
· Improve communication from owners by providing e-mail addresses where messages can be sent and a suggestion box with an assurance that all matters raised will be considered by the committee
· Ensure that clear instructions are on the notice boards for neighbours to contact our service providers when required
· All communications and services to be accessible in both Spanish and English.
· Actively pursue those who are in arrears in their community charge
· Actively pursue all legal methods to achieve a solution to the unfinished road
· Continue with the court process to obtain the funds necessary to resolve the structural problems with our urbanisation
· Deal robustly but fairly with neighbours who have changed the appearance of the urbanisation by incorrectly installing satellite dishes, air conditioning units etc.
