Help in getting from Gibraltar to Duquesa end of the month by bus

Hi 

Forgive my ignorance but what does IBI stand for.I completed in block 17 in May 2008 and was wondering what the story is relating to me.
Just returned from spending 3 brilliant weeks with my wife and 3 kids out in DV.Delighted with our purchase the finish on the development is great.
Had alot of dealings with Mark Wozniak and Jeni. whilst out there.They provide an excellent service.Thanks John Cox for recommending them.

Glad it went well...mark and jeni are a great couple as you say.

IBI is the eqivalent in UK to local rates...levied by the council in Manilva on all residences in the area to cover all local costs...what it covers i don't know but that is what it is. 

You will only be liable from May onwards and considering I have just paid mine after almost 2 years it shows how long it takes for the council to get their records in place.  I wouldn't worry about it yet as they won't know about you . probably next year go and see them .

I am unable to get out until November or December

Is there anyone going to the Town Hall or the office in Sabanillas in the next few weeks who could kindly get my IBI bill if I PM them a copy of a utility bill and NIE

I don't think it will be a problem if you can't get out until November - Caroline (carolinej on here) said that she had checked it out and the Manilva office apparently will be lenient and allow payment later, especially for the phase 2 as the bills did not go out until really late.

I'm not sure (although welcome to be corrected on this!) that a copy utility and NIE will suffice for them to print out your bill anyway.  As far as I am aware the only place to go is in Manilva, next to the police station.  There were queues of people when I went, as obviously everyone is aware that the payment date falls due in September.  I'm not aware of anywhere else you can go to get your bill.

From what AEA told me, the Manilva authority had mailed the phase two bills to DV, although when I checked none had arrived.  It may be that they have now, so perhaps someone could check your post at the security gate/AEA office in block 11?

Has anyone received their phase 2 bill out of interest?

You need to go the Oficina Patronato de Recaudacion in Manilva Village next to the new Policia Local office, I took my NIE original and Escritura and they looked at both to print off my IBM bill. 

Also, when they print it off it will have a pay by date on it. This was within 10 days of the issue date. When issued normally by post you have a longer window to pay in.

So you need to get it when you are in Spain.  Also at the same time if you take bank deatils you can set it up for direct debit for next year.

I just happened to be up in Manillva  one morning, and on the off chance went to the office, I said I didnt have a bill  or my NIE number with me and all they asked for was my address, they produced my bill for me with no questions, which I was happy and suprised about, saving me a trip back up. They said they would be posting the bills shortly.

I was in the security lodge collecting mail and noticed that the town hall has addressed all IBI bills to Duquesa Village as below

Duquesa village 1 13 11....where 13 is the stairway and 11 is the apartment number.  The 1 refers to the phase so all phase 1 IBI bills are in Block1´s post.  there is no reference to block numbers .
SO i assume all phase 2 bills will be the same and will be in block2 ´s mailbox.
