Does anyone know the spin speed of the washing machines.  Mine did not seem to have a good spin and the washing was very wet taking ages to dry even in the hot sun!  What setting gives the best spin would also be useful to know I thought it should be the intensive wash but did not seem to get any better results.  All looks good out there and cant wait to return shortly.  Does anyone know if the cooker extracter is ducted out? Thanks.

Ann

Dear Ann,

I have just returned from DV. My washing machine seems to have a great spin - I used 'frio' and '40' settings both with and without the 'rapido' setting and found them all to be good on the spin cycle. Maybe something is wrong with your machine?

I asked someone I know over there about the cooker hood and apparently it is ducted out (although I couldn't see where!)

Hope this helps.

If your washing machine seems to spin reasonably fast but the washing comes out wet - check that pump is not clogged with a coin, hairgrips etc. there should be a bit that comes out at the front albeit it may be behind a click off front panel and that the water drain is not blocked. These are the normal too reasons for damp washing with correct spin speed.

As for the cooker hood, I think mine is recirculate, I will check when I go down to the apartment.

Cooker hoods are vented out or recirculate, they often come with a fitting kit for both, I have just installed a new one in the UK.

You will see the hood has a grill on each side of the chimney, switch it on fast extract and feel the air from the side grills or hold a piece of paper near the grill it should blow away if its a recirculate install. If its a vented there will be NO airflow from the holes.

I installed carbon filters on mine in the UK as most hoods do not come with the internal filters. The carbon filters go inside the hood attached to the side of the blower.

They all usualy have the washable metal grills that are on the bottom on the hood. These clip out for washing.

Thanks for that I will try it when we go out but dont think there is a blockage as it was like that from day one.  But worth a try.

I will try the blowing test also when we go out. Why are these appliances never straight forward. We have a mesh filter but I was not sure whether we needed a carbon filter and a grease filter.  Do you know where we can buy replacement filters for them please.  Thanks.

For replacement filters look up the model number on the appliance or in the paperwork you were given for the hood then look on the internet ie Google for 'cooker hood spares'

you may be able to get the spares in Gavira the local shop.
