Darren, some really interesting points you've raised there and it's given me some ideas .  That's for the input.

Janice....please don't vanish, I think your graphics are ace and helps keep this forum a chilled place (most of the time).  We're all on here to enjoy Spain so we should be making it fun.

Nice idea Darren, it would make things much more structured.

What's with the Libby tho, thought that was the name of a tin of condensed milk! Remember my Nan used it in her tea, yuk!

Justin, mine was a good idea too.....................wasn't it?

Let.s start  a score points board, yeah!!!!!!!

Great idea Darren - then everyone would know exactly where to go if they are looking for information on a specific topic.

I don't know if it would be of any use to anyone, but I would be willing to answer any computer related issues (that's about all I can help anyone with I'm afraid!)

Justin

Might be to much hard work but how about a 'Costa' interactive map of all the urbanisations whereby Members can plot their locality, that way people will know who are neighbours etc and promote meetings etc. Could have a 'top slice' of the Costa regions that drills down into regions (Sol, Blanca etc) then further down to towns etc and finally urbanisations. keep you busy !

Gawd my head hurts today !

Darren

You will Justin, you will............

You will be:

Hungry, Wearing filthy clothes, living amongst dust & dirt, surrounded by take away wrappers, foodless in the fridge, tugged on your trousers by the dog that wants walkies, unable to see out your dirty windows, imprisoned by a lawn that is 6ft high, unable to have a dip as the pools turned green, oh it's endless.
What would men do without us eh?

So you will notice Justin, you will............

Less graphics and animations in signatures.

Ever tried to access via a mobile telephone when travelling. Takes so long, it's not worth the money to log on.

That's interesting.  I personally only use my mobile phone to make calls and send text messages, oh, and to see what time it is.

alm, excuse my ignorance, would it help to have RSS feeds of the forum posts?  There wouldn't be any images in the feeds as they are only for text.  Can you access RSS on a mobile phone?

I wonder how many people would like to see this feature??

alm

quite agree.

EOS Team

as has been mentioned before, any lists of good lawyers/agents/developers/developments/furnishers etc would be great. Quite soon we could weed out the bad guys, not by naming, but by exclusion to the positive lists.

Yes to RSS, but do not use. Just keep the phone clear for calls and internet access from laptop when travelling. Business or pleasure travel, need to be in contact via email (with graphics).

Receiving graphics for business purposes is not a problem, as business is business, but when it is just for leisure or just guidance, then it is annoying.

Once received an email with graphic, whilst overseas, so at the time £1 per minute.

Took around 40 minutes to download.

Contacted the employer of the person that sent the email, which was a joke with image of a male model.

Result. Claimed all call costs and my time in downloading. The company paid in full and the person was fired.

It does seem to be getting very much in vogue for many to have animated sigs. I just say bloody annoying. Takes up page space and time.

There again, probably be shot down for having an opinion based on fact?

I use a blackberry as a phone and access device and i can get onto  the website easily whilst travelling. Bit of a bugger typing while driving though. Justin must have the site setup as PDA compatable as its the easiest  webiste to access that i go on. unfortunately you dont get all the photos .

Blackberry is fine for some things. Ever tried to download large plans on them, then try to read them?

Believe me, there is no alternative.

Not too much of a problem though, just skip sites such as this when travelling.

Also, remember, not everyone has fasy access.

Sorry - wasn't trying to spoil anyone's fun! Just hoping for a bit of balance. If a thread is entitled 'Happy Everyday Chat' then fair enough, it could include anything and I would probably choose not to read it. But if I look on a 'Spanish Lawyers' thread then I don't expect to find dinner menus. There's nothing wrong with it - but I would stop looking after a while. Just my opinion and no offence intended.

BUMP!

And sorry to those members who hate pics in posts!

BUT I have to put this idea to the top that I posted earlier today.

The Reason?

Since I have been on the forum tonight, all the new names that I had seen posting................ have vanished.

So here goes again, I bet I get some flack from someone.......................

My post from earlier today on what I would like to see on Eye on Spain..........

It would be nice to have a "New Members" area.

They could post something in there to say hello to everyone

It should be strictly monitored to keep it purely for new members first post & established members saying "Welcome".

I have heard from new members that have contacted me privately, that they are too shy to join in the forum, but watch from the sidelines.

No disrespect to any of the existing members, but some of us can be very "forceful" and appear intimidating at times. I tmust be hard for someone who is less outgoing, to join in some of the very fast moving threads. (Can't keep up myself at times)!

Let's give the Newbies their own thread and maybe that will give them courage to join in the main forum.

What do you think Justin?
