Thank you Smiley thats made it clearer ,but when you only know roughly what repayments are until you get the proper offer its a bit daunting to have to wait four weeks thinking you have the property you want ,only to not like the offer and terms of the mortgage or they decide they will not give you one.

Hi, wondered if anyone could offer advice.

 

We have a mortgage on an apartment and are looking to refinance. Our current mortgage was interest only but has expired and we know pay the capital and interest. We financed the apartment back in 2005 and know the current valuation will be lower than it is today. Ideally we would be looking for another interest only mortgage, if that is still possible given the economy post 2008. 

 

If Nyone knows of any mortgage brokers that could look at our situation please let me know.

Hi Steve remortgage in Spain is complicated and horrendously expensive. Typically 6 - 7% of the mortgage balance as taxes Notary bank charges etc all have to be paid again. 

Based on your question impractical as well as there are no interest only products since the demise of the non Spanish lenders that were operating in Spain.
