 Hi,

I have been trying all day to find a telephone number to contact the insurer who provides the travel insurance that comes free with the account to declare a pre-existing medical condition.

I spoke to the branch in Fuengirola who put me through to Barcelona (I think) and the chap at the other end seemd to know all about adding pre-existing medica conditions, but said I had to phone a UK number to advise them and obtain a quote for the extra premium involved......and then the fun started.

Each number I called either answered the phone as "Lloyds" or 'AxA" (the underwriter for the insurance) and then, when I explained what I wanted to do, told me I had the wrong number and gave me another one to phone.

I called several numbers and soon came back full circle, I called into my local UK branch and they tried several numbers and eventually gave me a number which they said was the right one.  I went home and rang the number straight away to be told "It's not us you need to spek to, I'll give you the number to ring..." which turned out to be one of the numbers I had rung earlier.

So, does anyone bank with Lloyds International and do you know what number I should call?

Thanks

Kelju

Hi.

I am with Lloyd's International in Spain and they have never offered me this insurance even if they had i wouldn't take it on, or expect them to honour anything should the need arise.

I have this much the same insurance policy given to me free by the Nationwide Building Society, if you read your conditions you might find you have to pay in a quite large set amount every month to qualify, miss one and do you still get it?  I don't use them, prefer to buy my own.

You cant trust a bank with your money these days.....could you trust them with your health.

Sorry this must not read as it was intended, the question is does anyone know a correct phone number to call?

The policy is underwritten by Axa insurance who know exactly what I want, but the telephone numbers I am given are not for the Axa department that deal with the Lloyds International account, the people I speak to deal with all sorts of other bank insurance policies but not the Lloyds one specifically.

I have since my first post now filed a customer complaint on the Lloyds TSB UK website to see if they can find out who it is, after all, they are supposed to be one and the same banking group.

Bear in mind that, as in any travel insurance, you have to declare existing medical conditions and past medical history which may incur cost to you. Also, if you are awaiting any treatment, results or undergoing any investigations most Travel ins companies will not cover you. There's no such thing as a free lunch...
