In the Sierra de Crevillente near Albatera there is a place of natural beauty where salts come out of the rocks and Alicante / Valencia have spend thousands of Euros promoting the place for tourists and Spanish visitors alike.

The area is the habitat of many different types of wild life. It also has the main supply of potable water for the Vega Baja running straight through the middle of the proposed site.

Now some git called Otiz who is the main suspect in the "Brugal" garbage corruption court case has managed to get,or is in the process of getting a contract to make a huge refuse tip in this beauty spot.

Not only is the site totally unsuitable for a refuse tip, there are no roads except for dirt tracks for access to the 300 + per day wagons bringing the gabage. The selection of this site also is against European and Spanish ecological laws.

Now it is widely accepted that garbage has to be disposed of or dealt with properly, but to dump it in a mountain range like a huge fly tip is not the way to do it.

If any of you get presented with a petition to sign against this stupid proposal, please sign it.

Why don't you set one up? It sounds like a valid campaign!! The platform that seems to be working in Spain is change.org.

I would sign it. But don't know enough about the subject.
