NIE and Residencia corrections

My husband and I have lived in Spain for 8 years and own a property. As we now wish to sell we have noticed that there are errors on both our NIE's and Residencia certificates i.e. name mis-spelt and wrong date of birth. This didn't cause a problem when we bought the house but will this cause problems at the Notary when we do sell or how do we go about getting them amended?

I think you need to take them back to the office in Estapona with the original and ask them to change it.  They are quite helpful now, just be patient.

I have a similar problem.

The birth date on my NIE is wrong.

I have bought and sold one property and bought another using this NIE over the years. No problems. Try to register a car - no can do due to differing date NIE/Passport.

The NIE was obtained originally by a lawyer in Mojacar.

Do I have to return it  to Mojacar, or can I do it locally (Orihuela) when I am next out?
