New European Driving License introduced today

The New European driving license was introduced today, 19th of January. It does not invalidate the existing license but will gradually replace them as they expire .The maximum timelimit being 2033 for all drivers to comply, so there is no rush!! As I have understood it, there will now be one license which is identical for all European countries in a effort to reduce fraud and facilitate driving within European countries. There's nothing new as Spain had already complied with the requirement some years back. The Uk is requiring all paper licences to be changed to photocards by 2015. paper ones will be illegal after then.
