Hoax-Slayer says

The supposed warning has no basis in fact and should not be forwarded. It is not an official police warning as suggested in the message. This supposed police warning is nothing more than a UK variant of a hoax message that has previously circulated in the United States, Canada and elsewhere.

Thank you Gill556 for your reply and note your comments, however I will not be stopping to help anyone on the road side in the future.

It's a hoax, been around a couple of years, apparently started in USA and has been modified for other countries.

However, an egg on the windscreen is a bit of a problem, but the washer should clear it.

I would never stop to help anyone that I didn't know, it is a sad reflection of modern times that we trust nobody, however my friend was approached outside Carrefour by a man who said he needed help as he had had to leave his wife and young son in the car a couple of kms away as they had a puncture. He was looking for somebody to go and fetch them on his behalf. My friend did exactly that and it was genuine.  I told her that it was the most stupid thing I had heard of, it could have been an ambush, anything! but she got away with it.

I am almost certain (I will be corrected if wrong) but in Spain one is obliged by law to stop to assist if they see an accident.

From Internet:-

There is also a little known rule obliging a motorist to stop at the scene of an accident and give assistance as necessary (bare minimum is to call 112, where it is possible to obtain an English speaking operator); although there was in the past an obligation to ferry an injured person to the nearest first aid post, current best practice advises against this owing to likelihood of spinal injuries etc.
However, failure to assist a person in danger is a criminal offence, unlike in Britain where it is perfectly legal to stand and watch someone haemorrhage to death!
