Hi,

We regularly visit Los Alcazares when we are in Spain.  We stay in La Union when over but make the short journey to Los Alcazares on a number of occasions during each holiday.  I highly recommend the Bayside and La Diva, I have not been disappointed in a meal from either of these establishments, the service has always been great and the atmosphere equally so.  I particularly recommend the fillet steaks from Bayside!

I'm always looking for other places to try when over so any other recommendations are welcome.  On our July trip this year we will be taking my sister and her 6 and 5 year old children, I know that all places are family friendly however any recommendations as to where to take them would be gratefully received.

Alan

Hi

I tried Angelas at the bottom of square towards the beach. It was really good and would have a lot of choice for children  as well as the grown ups. Lovely

There's a big one on the front: I mis-read it and call it 'The Reincarnation' but in fact it is a name that is similar. Whatever; the Spanish ambience, atmosphere - and the inner courtyard when in flower is very impressive. I think they are a bit fussy on attire though. No beach wear.

Yes, very nice restaurant, La Encarnacion. Further down into the old town than in the square/ On the sea front

Fantastic restaurant called Campbells in Roda village, just past the Roda Golf and Beach resort.  No specific childrens menu but they are happy to adapt to suit.  Staff are very friendly and the food superb - need to book in peak season though!

We had a really nice meal in Rosalinds last Saturday.

The service, food & atmosphere were all excellent.

My friend and I are just back from there   ...  a chiringuito on the esplanades. Again I am bemused by restaurant prices here on the Costa Blanca. The food was pleasant enough but it could hardly be more basic: an egg, some chips and grilled chicken steak; plus a small beer. €10. Tin tables, plastic chairs, no loo and no table service. As I say, basic.

For three euros less we could have had a 3-course inc. wine at a really nice Chinese. For just €2 more a three course meal at Rebate Restaurant which by comparison is 5*.   The prices here just don't make sense to me but neither does the bureacracy. Strangely enough I still like it!

Cafe Cielo at San Pedro del Pinatar marina is lovely. They have a wide choice of foods including home made lamb burgers in a healthy pitta with salad, Guiness burgers with salad, lively postres etc ;-)

Is that by the yachtsman Jazll?

Thanks for reminding me about Rosalinds Coedffair, we have been there a few times and it is fabulous. Booking probably best as they do get busy in summer and if you want a table on the roof terrace.

Hi Candyfloss, It's on the same marina but further round and as well as great food, Cafe Cielo has lovely views right on the Marina (like the Yatchsman) or if you prefer there are outside tables the other side with Med views.

La Encarnacion is gorgeous, La Tropical also excellent down in the old town centre, El Chato is great which is beside Euronics on the road through Los Alcazares near where the Tuesday market is and La Vid de Ojeda which is along the right hand side of the dual carraigeway as you come off the motorway just past Barclays Bank and LA Golf - really excellent choices and very good fish and steaks - highly recommended.
