Non-resident cert processing? Help

Just received statement from bancaja in Costa Blanca & there is a charge for

'Commission for: Non-resident cert processing carried out on 24/03/07'

Can anyone tell me what this is for & what it means?

I have one for myself & 1 for my husband (it is a joint account)

Any info please?

It'll be for your non residency certificate, charged every two years on a non resident a/c & charged per a/c holder. Lloyd's now charge us 12€ each every two years (never used to charge but the police charge them 12€ so they're just passing it on). Friends of ours have another Spanish bank a/c (can't  recall which one) & their bank charged them around 25€ each as we discussed these charges recently!

Our charge is TASA  6.82 plus  IVA 0.36 total 9.18 each so I guess thats not bad!

We opened the account in March 07 so maybe it's from then? I really can't figure it out!

We are over in a couple of weeks To visit solicitors & pay their fees so will clear it up then, just wanted to gain a bit of knowlege so I can ask the right questions.
