Hello everyone, i posted this on the wrong thread before I see.  We plan on travelling on 24th November from Santander down to Vera region, havent done this before and I shall be in car and hubby on motorbike.  I would like a scenic route without toll roads as much as possible and without heavy trucks etc.  I can see there is a fairly direct route through Madrid, but as I am an eldery driver would prefer not to hit big cities where I cud find myself somewhat lost  with all the traffic that knows where its going!  I did check out the route from Santander thru Logrono, Soria, Arcos de Jalon, Cuence, Albacete in to Vera and then I see on Autoroute that there is yet another down to Zarragosa and then along the coast road.   I obviously cannot tell from this map what the routes are like.   So if anyone has down this journey and knows of the best and most "tranquil" route perhaps they  can tell me.  I would add we are in no hurry to reach Vera as we plan on staying for 6 months, so I would appreciate any input into this.  Also what is the weather like travelling this route ie I have a convfertible and wondered lol.  Many thanx to you all.    Foxi

Hi Foxi (love the name!)

I've never done the drive before so can't help with any advice but there have been similar discussions on the forum before.  See if any of these may answer your question:

Driving to Spain from England

Driving routes through France and Spain

Scenic Driving/Camping route from Manchester Via France to Pinoso

First time driving from North West UK - Murcia

Driving down to Spain

Which is the best way from england to spain by car

Hope some of those help.

Have a great trip down!

Justin
