Topping up an English phone

Hi,
Could anyone tell me please if it is possible to top-up a UK phone in Spain, using Spanish credit/debit card? My partner has been topping it up through our English account, but as there is nothing left in there now we are looking for alternatives. Also, can this be done from a Vodafone shop in Spain, as phone is Vodafone?

Looking at the VF UK site, if you sign up to their "My Account", it says you can make payments. Worth a punt? What about dialling 123? Our Spanish VF phone keeps smsing us that we can top up for free dialling 123.
