To all, have been to water company and they have said that you must register at the office via yourselves or your solicitor by may 4th.

The out standing bill by Arenal has been paid and the mains water will be connected to all who have registered on May 5th.

You require the deeds of the property, the Boetin, copy of passport and your nie number.

If you have any problem you should contact you solicitor as I did.

Just been on the Jimena blog and here is the latest.

Hope this helps

DVD

The debt owed by Arenal to the water company has been paid, so the owners can come to the ARCGISA  offices in Jimena to formalize their contracts. (Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9.30am to 1.30pm).
I would appreciate it if you could inform the owners that on Tuesday, May 5th, the water supply as it has been so far, will be cut off. Therefore, those who have not contracted their own individual supply, will no longer have water.

Documents to be furnished:
Filled-in application
Photocopy of title deeds (Escritura)
Occupation licence (Licencia Primera Ocupación)
Photocopy of Boletín (it will be in the name of Arenal)
Photocopy of ID document (Residencia, NIE or Passport)
Bank account number (if you’re going to direct debit)

The amount you will have to pay is €83.65 (€72.12 + 16% VAT) for each home.

Billing for communal areas (swimming pool, watering, etc.) will vary according to each meter.

I see in the notice they mention ¨Billing for communal areas (swimming pool, watering, etc.) will vary according to each meter¨. When I read that it seems to say that we all will be paying for the water that goes into the pool and other non apartment places - I am wondering why do I pay monthly fees if this is not included in this amount?

I would say that info is wrong, I guess the "community" also has to have their own contract and pay for this communal usage.... which eventually we pay through our montly payments.... just an idea...it did strike me as strange too.....

Was in Jimena a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surpised to find my water was connected up so my solicitor must be doing something right.

I understand from one of my Spanish neighbours that there is to be a meeting next month to discuss the swimming pool and entrance gates and would be grateful if someone could perhaps post a brief summary of the outcome regarding these items, in particular whether the pool will be open soon and how we obtain the keys, the same thing regarding obtaining keys to the entrance gates should they be locked. I don't fancy having to climb over next time I arrive.

A couple of other points, I had a look round my neighbours appartment and noticed he had installed a 100 litre electric boiler which seemed a good idea as I spent half an hour trying to get the gas boiler ignited after having left it for some time. I forgot to ask him who installed it and wonder if anyone has had one installed and if they had a contact for installing it

Also having tried to park my car in the garage of Block 1 and scraping the bottom on the ramp is there any talk of having this ramp made a little more user friendly as unless you have a 4 wheel drive I can't see how you can get to the parking lot without scraping the underside of the car.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bother you but I am most unhappy with the way things are going in Jimena. I understand the swimming pool is only opening in the afternoon like last year and I have rented my appartment all the summer and have been having to apologise and compensate people for no fault of my own. People go away to the beach because they can not use the swimming pool and they stay there the whole day and I find it unfair.

I am unable to do anything myself because I live in London. I know it is hard work and the current chairwoman and subchair are doing all the can, I guess. However if anyone feels at some point they would like to nominate themselves for one of these roles please do let me know since I'd like to vote for someone who is eager to change things. I feel the "comunidad" is not being run to its full potential, obviously the swimming pool is just a sympton.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regards.

Well things in Jimena seem to be normal, WHY! WHY! WHY! Can I not swim in the swimming pool in the morning? Why is it so difficult to open the bloody gate for the OWNERS to swim at any point in the day???????????????????? I am sick too death with the management of the community. I thought we had a vote to open the pool all day. If things don’t move within the next few days I am going to put my apartment up for sale. I know things are difficult to sell in Spain right now so I will offer it for sale cheaply to a bunch of murdering yardies from Africa. I am sorry things have come to this but I will be glade to be shut of the whole sorry affair

I have looked around the village for a competent estate agent to offer my property for rent or sale and have had absolutely no success. No surprise there then, it is Spain and nothing is as it seems. What is wrong with this country that everything is scued. I have just about given this development all the time I am willing too. If things don’t improve within a very short period I am stopping payment to the community fees and brining in the Yardies.

Ian

Hi Ian,

I understand you anger, I feel that too. I have had my apartment let out for the whole summer which was good but I advertised it with swimming pool and have had to apologies and compensate the people who have stayed there. Last Saturday there was a meeting and nothing changed, they will not open the swimming pool until they get some paperwork sorted.

On the other hand I run a estate agency in Jimena which you are welcome to visit, it is in the Camara de Comercio building, next to the Parque de Bomberos (firestation) and it is called Obensis International. I have had lots of owners offering me their flat in Arenal for sale at lower prices that they paid but nothing is selling. I have also lost lots of holiday makers because after my apartment was fully booked I tried to offer others but the prices were too high. I have told around 30 families sorry we don't have an apartment for you because of this problem, so you guys need to be conscious of the prices.... I have let it most to Spanish people whose budget was 300/350 euros per week..... better than nothing.

But yes, in general this complex has got a curse :). By the way if you stop paying the community fee they will sue you.

Regards.
