My advice is this, get yourself a decent off-the-ground 4x4 car with good, wide gripping tyres and not one of those silly, trendy & cheap multi-coloured metal boxes with their undersides & exhausts near to the ground. Otherwise, join the queues of those who must wait, and wait, and wait beside overflowing floodwaters - hoping the levels will lower - soon. When weather such as we have just experienced frequently happens during winter months, one needs to think ahead. Otherwise, you too can join the short-sighted queues. I'm still laughing at the envious faces of those who watched me plow through the flood in my 4x4 as they waited, waited & waited. lol

Hi in response to aspirin perhaps people just buy ordinary cars as we all know that the floods in that dip only happens around every 4/5 years so would a big gas guzzler of a car really be needed ..perhaps if you could have had a bit more thought maybe you could have helped some of the stranded people instead of just taking the piss .lets hope that one day you are the one who is stuck or stranded and we are the ones taking the piss out of you..........most people on Sierra golf are really friendly and would help each other and not just drive by laughing.........rugrat

And just as I expected.

Thank you for not seeing the positive side of my comment. Typical negativity! And where does the 'Only 4/5 years' originate from? Where have you been for the past decade?

I await your additional negative response.

If I could have helped I would have but there was nothing I could possibly do. Even King Kanute couldn't hold the waters back. As for a vehicle that helps us to get around... you're welcome to your little inflexible boxes. I know what is reliable.

Oh, and as Global Warming kicks in even more so, the periods of flooding could very well get much worse. Ah, but short sighted people can only see so far ahead.

And as far as driving a gas-guzzler goes, my deisel engine gives me more mpg than my little petrol engined car does, for less costs and NOX emissions.

Hi if you need a gas guzzler for getting around then maybe you are just a Richard as like I have said only 2days every 4 or 5 years do we get floods that often and also we would not sit laughing at others and offer lifts across .but as a negative don't you think taking the piss is a bit negative "..........rugrat

Hmm, yes, rude as well as ignorant of what is needed to maintain a healthy living environment. And just as I would expect from an individual who knows not very much. It's what I refer to as ''Playground logic". It's what you percieve something to be by what you see without actually knowing the technicalities invlolved.

Very sad but typical.

C'mon, dig a deeper hole.

Aspirin, an old poster by another name and you are at it again sure you don't want to lose your account again

Why do people have to attack each other on here, why can't we all get on and help each other

i run 3 cars does that make me a bad man

Always find it amusing when people continue to run ilegal UK registered cars, remember 6 months a year for non-residents, NO GRACE period for residents, think about it

I always find it a pity that when people live in the same place that they canniot discuss things face to face rather than using a forum to exchange insults

Apart for the roads being closed off as normal and I heard a couple of people had problems pools I don't believe that the actual damages were too bad, the flooding in the area was really bad

I believe that the course reopened yesterday , today was bright sunshine

If you have a property there really you need a property manager to check it, especially the underbuilds but you are right a simple update was all that was needed
