Hello All

I have always read with intrest threads on Condado where i am a property owner and have been for 4 years, i do not usually reply to threads but on this occation i find what i am reading to be unexceptable.

If we has a community have paid 5000e for the repair and upkeep of the footbal pitches then these pitches should be available to the community as a hole and at all times,. So why has someone padlocked these pitches ?.

Please remove these locks before someone else does.

Jimmy

Hi

Just heard about the pitches being padlocked, hilarious!!!

Perhaps we should all start wmailing L2 Presidents or ML???

Judging by the likes for my comments or those in favour, I seem to have some silent support...thanks all???

Iain, where are you....why can't you reply...a l2 should have good communication skills...ignoring the problem won't make it go away!!!!! The problem will just get bigger and bigger!!!!

Great to see such a positive initiative. Our kids really missed the kids club last summer and its a great way for kids to make new friends and gives parents a bit of time off.
If the pitches can be restored to anything like their forner glory then this will be a great addition to the resort and if Iain is prepared to do the hard work and attempt to convert what is now wasteland into football pitches then he deserves support not the vitriol and abuse he seems to be getting.
In the interests of balance I think there are an awful lot of owners who would like to see Iain make a sucess of this.

hope ians got public liabilty insurance for his new buisness on our comunity pitches.

very costly law suit if one of our kids get injured or are we footing the bill for that aswell?

see ian has locked the pitches already

perks of being a level 2 president i suppose!!!!!!

Blazingsaddler, you said

"if Iain is prepared to do the hard work and attempt to convert what is now wasteland into football pitches then he deserves support"

The point is, Iain has not done the hard work. The community has paid over five thousand Euros to have them restored for the benefit of everybody.

What have we got in return for our five grand?- a padlocked pitch which Iain gets to use exclusivily and for free (allegedly), in order to make a profit for himself. How can this be fair?

If I am understanding this wrong, which I hope I am, can someone please correct me.

Quite agree.  Last year we were told that STV would maintain the pitches free as part of their 5 year contract, now we are being told that we, the owners, must pay €5000ish a year for the maintenance?????

I didn't use these pitches, but happy for them to be maintained by the community of communal use as it's better than having them go to waste.

BUT, why should we play for someone else to profit from them???  They are now padlocked up so you can't get on them?  WHY???  If they are communal they they should be open to all.  If they are being run privately, by Ian, then he should pay, NOT the community.

Why should someone get sole use of these pitches to make a profit from us if we are paying???  I guess there must be some deal going on we don't know about?  Could be why ML telephoned individual owners and canvassed for them to vote Ian in as a president?????  Hmm, so much for the domocratic process and impartial administartors????

I was contacted by Ian Ness today and asked to clarify on EOS that this has nothing to do with him. Ian Ness is the gentleman who ran football courses at the Condado Club last year...( the geezer with a London accent).

The man at the brunt of this is Iain Croarkin who runs the game zone and his wife Leeanne manages the hair and beauty salon in Al Kasar!

There is no connection whatsoever with ian Ness, who has worked with Chelsea in the past!!,

Hi to all, we have just inquired with Milenium for our community funds spent on the community football pitches to find out that this is all  not true! The € 5000 have NOT been spent at all, NOT in 2013 and NOT in the current year! The football pitches are neither community property BUT property of IRM so what's the fuss about? Seems that competition in the kid's entertainment market cant stand the fact that somebody is doing a much needed service to the comunity as private initiative. We have seen Iain with his family clearing the land, taking out weeds, dog left overs and anything else on the land to prepare this for some usefull activity for our youngest Condadians and what they get is grief from people who are purposely misled by somebody who surely has a hidden agenda, otherwise I cant explain so much negative and misleading input into that topic. Be aware, this forum is mainly to create a shit storm, dont allow to be abused.

Obviously nothing was spend last year or so far this year at it was not included in last year budget.  But, it is included in this years budget so therefore the presidents are planning to spend it and all the owners will be paying for this from the next quarter.   yep, the pitches are IRM property but if we, the community want them usable then I guess the only way is for us to pay for the upkeep as IRM will not.  If the community is paying then it whould be open for us by all the community,  NOT padlocked up for use my individuals for their own profit.  If they are clearing the piches themsleves and are paying a fee to ML ( which goes back in communal coffers ) then good on them, i assume this will mean that the community will not need to spend the 5000 budgeted.  But if we do spend the money maintaning them then either they should be open for communal use or Ian should be paying the community to cover the costs.  legally the maintenance could be classed as a new service so would need a 100% vote in favour in order to pass the charge onto the owners.     Don't get me wrong the 5000 doesn't bother me either though I will never use the pitches but I resent paying communal money so that a private individual and benefit.

Hi Iain
As promised the Easter dates for the west mids are 11/04/14 for two weeks
This thread has really taken off with loads of brand new posters throwing their comments in.
Great post by Rob & Bev who actually took time to do their homework
As for Rosie 'fighting a war' What War? You are well clued up in Norwich!! (Maybe you could give Chris Hughton a helping hand.)This is just another enterprise trying to get off the ground so as to offer the resort an alternative which is centrally located to the shops and bars on CDA.
When I am next over in Easter I would like to invite Denise, 2 little tinkers, redrose, Tum, london boy, and not forgetting Mariadelmar, for a drink at Big Gs . I'm sure they will have a table for two available
When I am over I intend to ask exactly what is the set up on the pitches between ML/IRM of both Iain and ML but if they tell me to mind my own business they would be perfectly within their rights
I await the onslaught of abuse from a so called informative forum
Cheers
Pat (proper name!)

Please keep Denise/ 2littletinkers out of this...i purposefully stayed out of this!,

For info, I am all in favour of the pitches being done up and am currently trying to organise a football tournament on these if ML will agree to spending the cirrect amount of money on them!

I have already secured a youth team from London and will be posting further information soon!! I learned a long time ago to stay off EOS. All I did was pass the message from ian Ness who phoned me today!!

The 5k is on the Budget 2014 which was sent to all by ML in October time. Please keep me out of your petty argument!

What has happened to this forum?

Me and my wife bought an apartment on Condado three years ago and we and our kids love the place even though we dont get out to the apartment as often as we'd like. When we were considering buying we got so much useful information and feedback from people on this forum who didn't know us but were happy to share their own experiences

I don't post here very often, but my word its changed a bit since then and its no wonder most people don't bother with it and simply use Facebook.

I put up a comment yesterday in support of Iain's attempts to run his kids club on our sadly neglected football pitches.  When he was running his kids club at the Condado Club my kids were regulars and I also enjoyed having a kick around as well.

Like the vast majority of owners I'm based permanently in the UK, so whilst we try to keep in touch as best we can, we are less concerned with the politics of who likes who and who has been elected President, but see the bigger picture in terms of how this resort that we've all invested our hard earned cash in can progress and move forward.

There has been a lot of talk on this forum about getting the football pitches back into use and sadly to this point it has come to nothing. Two good quality, well maintained football pitches would make Condado a very viable venue for football tournaments, a potential winter training  base for Football, teams and other sports.- In effect help develop Condado as a lower cost alternative to La Manga. We have the scale and existing infrastucture to be one hell of a venue / destination. This could help generate more trade for the businesses and more rentals for owners away from the traditional busy periods. That is good for all of us who've got a stake in Condado.

If Iain is prepared to get out there and drag his daughters out with him to try and knock these pitches into shape then he not only gets my support but my admiration. It may well be that Iain has been elected a L2 President because he can rise above the poliitics that seems to pre-occupy most people on this forum and is actually trying to do something positive for Condado. Something that would ultimately benefit all of us.

There have been a number of comments on the forum - It does seem Rob and Bev have actually had the conversation with MIlennium to clarify the position on ownership of the pitches.

With regards to everyone having a big issue with the pitches being padlocked - What's the problem, No one has shown any interest in the pitches for the last 3 years. Have all the residents suddenly decided  they'd all like to have a kick around? Are there large groups of children desparate to play football but locked outside?  Will you all be marching on those businesses that have closed up for the quiet months to demand they all unlock the padlocks on their buisinesses and open up so that residents can have a full range of dining options?

I am sure that many of the posts on this forum are well intentioned but stem from the lack of transparency that seems to be a charecteristic of the way things get done in Spain. So I hope my comments don't cause offence, I simply think that people should perhaps see the bigger picture.

While some posts here may be simply reflect a desire for clarity. I would take issue with the posts from Redrose fighting her war from her bunker somewhere in Norwich!!!

Having posted on here in support of Iain's kids club, I recieved a couple of private messages from Redrose. I hadn't  insitigated this but the messages were a vicious character assasination of Iain and his wife Leanne, and their three girls.. A very nasty hatchet job and  If I had been the subject of her comments I would have had her up for libel. I

For someone living in Norwich?, Redrose seems to have an extraordinary interest in Iains business and a burning desire to strangle it at birth and a level of background knowledge that could only really be acquired by a full time Condado resident.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Redrose lives in Norwich. I have no idea who she is . Perhaps she'd be prepared to let us know.

If Redrose won't reveal her true identity, perhaps those of you who live on Condado could have a guess..

Love and peace

.
