This break in and theft issue is a surprise. When we stayed at Condado a couple of times we thought the really strong point was security. In the end we purchased on Camposol and have had no issues at all . We hear of some crime round our way but none near us, touch wood.

We did have spanish style metal grills ( Rejas) fitted to all the windows and door at the cost of  1200 Euros for three doors and four windows and so this beefed up the security.  We also have neighbours who live full time

its only and idea and i dont know if it could work but could each community set up its own neighbourhood watch.  By the way last time we were in spain we went to the Clover bar . Just a big THUMBS UP and the guards let us in no problem . First two times we came to condado had to stop and register ... security ?

Camposol has weekly burglaries!!! We don't have that, thanks to security.

This apperas to be a summer problem so hopefully by next summer it will be sorted.

Neighbourhood watch is a good idea but that would rely on the fulltime residents which wouldnt ge fair on them.

Rejas are a great idea if an area has problems with burglaries like Camposol or some rural areas, though I see a cheeky thief in Camposol didn't let that stop him acquiring a laptop! Rejas are also very dangerous in the event of a fire. We have only had one burglary that I have heard of. Our problems are casual / opportunist thieves lifting things which have mostly been left unsecure.

We need to secure our items, be vigilant...security need to check cars on exit...not small cars that wouldnt fit a bike or washing machine!

I'm certainly not blaming the presidents in any way as I know they do a lot of work on our behalf especially if like me you are not a full time resident........yet. Security on the other hand is a different matter, a bit heavy handed when there is no need .....eg. flashing torches to curb noise levels when there is none, yes people enjoying themselves on holiday in August...wow! and silly issues around the pools plus the other issues people spoke of. You know what happens when you put a uniform on people.

THESE STOLEN ITEMS HAVE TO BE GOING OFF SITE

Hi! I fitted a dummy alarm box on my front wall last year and was told to take it down by security because they thought it was a camara! Work that one out?

I  agree as there as security havre no right to ask you to remive a dummy alarm box as this is down to a community and they are a great deterient, especially the bix from Friedland where the dummy and real boxes are identical

Even if it is a camera they cannot stop you but you must display a CCTV sign

Regarding  comments made by "Redrose "..........  see posting below ref the clubhouse !. Minor problem is it .

 REDROSE....see posting by Zidane (9th September )

Hi All,

To add to the latest bad news regarding thefts on the resort and to confirm the deterioration of things over here, I have been told that the club house has been broken into yesterday and an amount of money stolen.

Really don't know what to expect next and whether we should sit and watch all this happening and not doing anything....

Any suggestion?

I cannot even imagine how the resort would be like when the building works start at Paramount.

Thank you.

I never referred to it as a minor problem...but you were denying that Camposol has such a problem with weekly burglaries.

Some crime round your way......think you should take a close look at Preguntas y Mas....

i always feel that you come one here to sell Camposol....the web page in your signature encourages this thought.

I hope I tell it as it is! This burglary of our Clubhouse is a different issue....am surprised there is no talk of this on Condado today!!

Until now I was aware of only one breakin in Condado, .the rest were all items that anyone could lift and did. As I have said with the alleged number of bikes stolen sitting at 42.....it looks like our bikes are being stolen for resale.

No level of theft is acceptable and needs to be tackled!,

We are looking to buy a second property on La Isla in the near future, thats why we watch this forum. If it upsets you that i comment on Condado site then I apolgise and wont do it again , err but I am telling it as it is... "preguntas e mas"... not that old chestnut again eh!.

Sometimes ideas like neighbourhood watch are well received and cost little to set up . It was just an idea but clearly you are the voice of Condado..

Don't take it like that, please!, i just thought you were attacking Condado to get sales in Camposol, I apologise!

La Isla is so secure as it has cameras. Aparently it has no thefts this summer.

Whats wrong with Preguntas y Mas....its owners telling how they have been robbed??? Why would Camposol owners lie about the robberies....personally I find a lot more lies on here at times.

This genuinely is the first burglary I have heard of since the one in the Naranjos....all other thefts seem to have been opportunist.....

As I said no theft is acceptable!!

Just to also mention that in addition to break ins at Camposol there are thefts at Hacienda del Alamo as well which is only 20 mins away. Heard about quite a few over the years from both resorts including one at HDA a couple of weeks ago which was the day the holiday makers had arrived and as soon as they went out for a drink the villa was burgled. These types of thieves don't get lucky - they must have had someone watching the place to know which villa and when to go in.

Looks like the perps have turned their attention to Condado as well now. Pity Harry Callahan has been retired by Clint.

If all these thefts get reported the Guardia Civil must have a very long list indeed.

I have mentioned this before but actually it isn/t a good idea discussing things like this on a public forum

The problem is that the forums are not only read by owners but also renters and the last thing that perhaps renters want to read about is a series of thefts and break ins, on a resort where they are looking to holiday

Some resorts have developed private forums where onwers have to prove that they are owners before they can join and where key issues on a development can be openly discussed

The robbers look outs tend to already be on the resorts, they watch who is about, they look for the relaxed new arrivals to target

There are many break ins on the resorts around Murcia and The Costa Blanca, mostly they steal easily disposable items, bikes TV's and  many are not spoken about in public

Security is all about deterient, PIR lights, alarms dummy alarm boxes and yes chaning items up, even during the day

As far a s clubhouse theft is concerned most of what is being said seems speculation, odd that takings would be left in tills and not banked or put into a safe for overnight safety
