Anyone thought that they might use Condado's outer ring road car park as the parking area for paramount and have shuttle trains transporting them to the park. It's a possibility.

And the 2 Disneys in the USA are run by which company L?????

I was comparing the size of Disney LAND resorts, you brought up Disney World.

Hi all..

I've read with interest the different views on the prospective building of a theme park/studios in or around Condado.

I can understand both people wanting and not wanting  a developement,but for what it's worth here are my views.. 

Many people have said a built up area with noise and all that goes with a theme park isn't what they bought in to.But the dream they bought into doesn't exist any more!I actually count myself lucky to have a nice apartment in a nice area to go to.With some really unspoilt local towns to visit.Many have put money down and have nothing to show for it.

So to hark back to the original plans doesn't accomplish anything,all we can do is look at what the situation is now.

What we have is potentially a magnificent area with a great infrastructure,with a thriving golf course and bars and restaurants on site.But that is only potential,what we have is a not very pleasant bar that charges what it wants because there is no competition,and a restaurant that will only open when it suits them.

Looking forward,that won't change at all until the financial situation in Spain changes,could be years.

I could only see it getting worse.I for one don't want to have a place in Spain that is in a ghost town,and it could go that way worst case scenario. 

So the idea of a multi-million pund developement on our doorstep for me is fantastic news..Maybe in 5 years time we will be flying into Corvera,then a short bus ride to Condado,and all we need then at our doorstep.Who knows the tennis courts may even be open for Geoff!

And if people don't fancy it hopefully the apartments will be sought after,not everyone wants a hotel,and they can sell and get somewhere nice in a quieter spot.

As I said I can see why some people don't like the idea of this developement because that wasn't what they bought into,but as I also said that doesn't and won't exist anymore..

Totally my views,and who knows maybe it won't happen.

But if it does in Murcia surely at Condado,seems tailor made with the new airport and great space and infrastructure.  

I'm out on the 14th and can't wait,strangely love the place,no restaurant and all.

We  could not agree more.

I have a friend who bought a large two bed in Puerta Benus

like other buyers they were promised the earth

Unfortunatly unlike condado that is idealy placed to good shopping area`s etc 

Her apartment is so rural that there is not even a decent road. She paid 300,00 euros at the time that we paid for just over a third for ours

Admittedly hers is twice the size of our two bed but she has hardly any outside space & we have a great roof terrace

Many of the purchasers on her site are trying desperatly to sell ,so much so that, here are only eight apartments furnished for use.

She travels alone & because there are no owners living on site it has become vandalised & like otherowners is afraid to stay there now

I think under the circumstances we have hit gold

 We love it, love it , love it . Yes three times love it on Condado & either way have no regrets

We also like Condado- we are not daft and know what we bought into hasnt happened and far from being in the 'half full crew' we just accept that this is the turn of the coin. We completed in Sept 2008 and furnished in Oct half term 2008.  During that week there was no-one else in our Jardin and maybe no-one in Jardins either side, you could slice the silence of a evening.

Time at Condado has confirmed that we dont want to be in the centre of a heaving metropolis and silence can be 'golden' especially in the evenings, but we would like the resort to be more vibrant no matter what time of the year we turn up.

As I am reading bits of articles most reassure me this Paramount project wont be overly massive and some doubt is cast on the projected number of tourists it may attract to the region- as investors only want to promote the best case scenario.  I'm more inclined to agree that its the only way forward for our resort if  the park ends up on CdAll or within an hour away. Not so much because of potential rental opportunities but that either PW or new developers will want to make more of the unbuilt land within the gated area's, and so Condado will benefit.

Fingers crossed that if it happens it makes a positive difference.

Having read my earlier post again I can see it was very negative- after me writing 'I dont mean to be negative'!! Too much reading , thats my trouble!

So, sorry had a blip, but I'm still being offered the opportunity to cut my losses and sign away my share in the apartment so I suppose I'm bound to be a bit uncertain whilst everything is so unknown. Still not sure whats the best for CdA but have to agree that opportunities aren't knocking at the door to expand the resort so this would make a lot of difference if its next door or within an hour or so.

Don't fret Tony, we all have negative moments and spells where we lose faith.

Now me, I'm not really a religious type but following the events of recent days......................I am really starting to believe in Jesus !!!!

Keep the faith Tony   I think like you we are not over the line just yet and we have a long way to go even if Paramount appears within 20 mins of the resort. This project is still a number of years away. There are a whole range of issues which need to be resolved which include public transport links to the site and the Clubhouse. I think in the interim while all this is happening it is still critical that we get that clubhouse up and running as it is the one thing which will add value to the resort while we while for anything else to happy. It is a real pity that Polaris has blocked this at the moment and suggests that they are going to fight hard to ensure that their golf courses get every advantage ahead of ours. It may be that in the future that we may have to build our own on the common area and rent it back to the golf management company if we want to get ahead. In the meantime I'm watching and waiting like you. Also good to see you back on the forum again adding real value.
