Havent been on the EOS for many, many months. Wanted to take the opportunity to say I think the resort is looking very good and I have enjoyed my visits these last few years as I have seen how things have progressed. I dont think we are what Polaris World 5* envisaged but I do think we have been able to ride the storm of the financial crash and make the resort vibrant and welcoming. This is frankly amazing as in my work I have seen many  vacation spots fold and disappear and the fact that CdA continues and develops is nothing short of wonderful. Much work done by few stalwarts no doubt to keep things going and getting more sales on the empty apartments has made the difference.

There will be many who are still disgrunteld that CdA isnt the resort the bought into and I understand that- it wrought disaster to much of what I planned and expected post 2007. But, those of us who own and can afford to remain have a very nice place to visit or to rent and I really believe things will only continue to get better.

Will the Paramount theme park ever get built- who knows? Does everyone want it? Probably not. But, even without it CdA has much to offer and I really believe is an little Oasis and a great place to live and visit.

Will slip back into obscurity now.... but, ENJOY!

Havent posted for some time, but feel strongly about this. Through my own failing I didnt realise the owners were responsible for paying for the Fiesta, I didnt realise it was an agenda item. It certainly means I'll try to be more aware. Sadly the few posts I've seen on FB etc are that it was all a bit miserable and the fireworks weren't much (did they happen at all?) I'm not sure if its ever been very worthwhile and I certainly dont want to pay to host it. This year I even feel the Saturday markets weren't very good and they had far fewer stalls of items I dont want and I dont think many people wanted as most seemed to have a stroll around and retire back to Al Kasar.

I'm not being negative, just realisitic. I'd rather have a vibrant monthly market than a weekly market of dreary stalls selling cheap watches, handbags and masses of shoes. The food stalls appear ok but I have read of people buying a bag of fruit/veg but not being allowed to select the items themselves and getting home to find bad fruit and veg in the bag. The stalls with ornaments, water filters and so on look more professional but there's only so many of those people need.

Equally I'd rather have a one day/night Fiesta that was vibrant and exciting that a few nights under par.

We really need to get the fact that owners have to fund this Fiesta out in the open, so we dont do it again!

Very sorry to have read about this childs accident.

As far as this thread goes it has me a bit lost. I'm all for the CPR Team being established on CdA- but surely we are talking about First Aiders and not paramedics. First Aiders being an important 1st point of call but not medics in the was paramedics are? Defibrilators are a very useful tool but it would do with just the driver of the security car being trained as surely there are several drivers to cover the 24/7 requirements of the job?

Train volunteers to First Aid standards first and then see what else is needed. It can only be residents afterall.

If we are not on CdA very frequently how do we contribute - I feel they are missing out on contributions if they just rely on people on CdA attending fundraisers or donating? This needs greater publicity.

The Paramount workers ???- tongue in cheek comment surely! I still cannot see the Theme park being built though no doubt the irregular propaganda is prompting more property sales. I keep seeing bits and pieces saying the design has been altered and reduced but dates etc on information is not always available so its hard to find much that is current. I dare say lots of owners will keenly be hoping the park does get built - think of all that rental as the place gets built- unless they house them on site.!

As for the footy pitches any work they do on them is good news. Whether you use them or not an eyesore is always going to be an issue when we are trying to promote our resort.

Hi Phil, I know how it should work. But I was thinking as ML advise the Presidents if we petition them they'll see the trength of thought there is regarding the pitches and promote the idea to the Presidents. But, I agree that petitioning the Presidents has to be part fo that too.
