Havent posted for some time, but feel strongly about this. Through my own failing I didnt realise the owners were responsible for paying for the Fiesta, I didnt realise it was an agenda item. It certainly means I'll try to be more aware. Sadly the few posts I've seen on FB etc are that it was all a bit miserable and the fireworks weren't much (did they happen at all?) I'm not sure if its ever been very worthwhile and I certainly dont want to pay to host it. This year I even feel the Saturday markets weren't very good and they had far fewer stalls of items I dont want and I dont think many people wanted as most seemed to have a stroll around and retire back to Al Kasar.
I'm not being negative, just realisitic. I'd rather have a vibrant monthly market than a weekly market of dreary stalls selling cheap watches, handbags and masses of shoes. The food stalls appear ok but I have read of people buying a bag of fruit/veg but not being allowed to select the items themselves and getting home to find bad fruit and veg in the bag. The stalls with ornaments, water filters and so on look more professional but there's only so many of those people need.
Equally I'd rather have a one day/night Fiesta that was vibrant and exciting that a few nights under par.
We really need to get the fact that owners have to fund this Fiesta out in the open, so we dont do it again!
