Communal TV

I did bring this to the president’s attention, but he feels it’s not a community problem but a single household issue; I did try and contact Scott from the provider, but failed miserably

I have a house on Pedro Cano and I too can only get about 8 Channels.

We live on Jose Sanchez Lozano and can confirm everything that Kev said and more !!! We can get 10 analogue and 30+ digital stations which everyone is entitled to !  All our block receives these stations so why can the block oppsite us not receive them ? It is a mystery that should not be left unresolved.

Quick update....Scott from the TV provider came to our home this week but said...........wait for it......... Nothing to do with them because it isnt their system its Spanish TV.....

No further forward...........

Contact Adfinsur and get them to have the aerial checked by an independant contractor, it should be the same spec as the one on our side and everyone on site should be getting the same channels, as per Taray saying we should all have access to the free to view digital stations.

I can confirm that on the townhouse side of Pedro Cano we too only receive 8 digital channels (all spanish). 2 years ago we were receiving 20+, including BBC World, Eurosport (eng) and CNN. I would agree this is a community issue and the new president should tackle this on the communities behalf!

it seems that there may be a problem with the ariel on your block. I think it is situated at the end of jose sanchez lozano closest to the pool as pedro cano and jose sanchez lozano use it. if you have a digital tv or a digital freeview box then you should be getting at least 28 channels - including disney channel and sony channel but not BBC or CNN as the channels we receive are spanish digital channels.

the community television system is something that should have been sorted out for the benefit of the whole commuinty.

a large satellitie dish should have been installed to serve the whole community and then people could have purchased receivers to pick up the free to air channels.

Unfortunately most of the people who live there subscribe 20 euros per month for re-broadcast channels and therfore have no interest in the greater good of the community

If the spanish goverment continues to go after these re- broadcasting companies then people may find themselves having to re-consider a legitamate service of a satellite dish

I totally agree this should have been sorted from the begining, people then have every option on what service they wish to opt for. The amount of people you hear about of disatisfied customer on these re-broadcast systems will never end.

Hi all, like you Kevin - I get a measly 8 or so channels, seems daft,unfair and unorganized that one block opposite has 3/4 times the channels, Has this been taken up by our president at all ?

We're using a digital freeview box and we only get 8 channels. We also get about 2 or 3 extra channels from the analogue signal. 

Anyone know the contact email adress for the new president? I'm clear this is a community issue.

I have read with interest the so called problems of the communal arials, and before I go further I am not against bettering the reception of these arials,

The communial arial was erected by TARAY to conform with community law which is that the community will have the means to have information i.e. news stations spanish/english and some other stations it does not have to provide 30 stations etc, I think the original was about seven stations

Thanks for info, BUT, that being the case how are we "All" not getting the same channels?? I appreciate Taray havent provided 30 + channels, but an arial is an arial and whatever Taray have put up in one block, so they should have done for All the development.. If an arial can pick up 30 stations so should all the other arials!  To me this indicates they put one decent arial on one block, and then thought bollicks I will put cheaper ones up everywhere else,

With reference to the extra stations, you need a Freeview Television or a Free to view box. But in saying that  - it depends on what side of the Road you live on, as on our side of the road you can get 30 stations, and on the other side of the road the very same Freeview T.V. can only pick up 8 stations.  Ariel or what ????? and if it is the Ariel who is responsible ?????

i DONT KNOW IF ITS PART OF THE PROBLEM,BUT ON THE AERIAL TOWER ON PEDRO CANO AND AT THE END OF THE TOWN HOUSE ONE OF THE DISHES IS FACING DOWN AND DOS'NT APPEAR TO BE CONNECTED

Only recently Scott tidied up a mast and took several unused arials off, which belonged to companies that have folded, or not used now

You dont need a freeview box or built in one to get the 30 channels, my TV is a normal digital TV it doesnt have freeview built in, yet when I went across to my neighbours opposite who can get 30 channels {freeview or not} I plugged my set in and retuned it and got ....30 chnannels, that would indicate its somthing to do with the arial or the positioning or the power it can recieve at.

Ref the arials, Taray informed me that they were responsible for them.they are not responsible for the mesh systems people put up to get TV when the development first kicked off.
