Falling House Prices

Hi Everyone

I dont want to be the bringer of bad news, but it looks like the credit cruch is also hitting house prices in Spain, this ad was taken off the Taray web site:  wonder how much you paid for yours???

I don't really see the point of worrying about it!!  There's nothing we can do about it, so as long as you can pay your mortgage you may as well carry on enjoying your home in the sun. Most of us have lived through recession's before and things will turn around eventually. It's not just sticking your head in the sand its just being pragmatic. So here's hoping for a quick recovery (but not really expecting one) and wishing everybody the best of luck in these uncertain and trying times.

Hi the current house price is immaterial and really only affects owners wishing to sell at this present time, even though I still reside at the moment in the UK I didn't buy to make a quick buck!  Also the 129,000 euros only represents what he actually wants for that for his particular property, it may well be that he still struggles sell even at price. Builders in the UK & Spain are certainly going through a period of severe hard times. The Spanish ecconomy will have a knock-on affect, until the UK sorts its self out, through the Brits not buying & tourism. So in the mean time look for discounts in bars & restaurants whilst businesses struggle to stay afloat.

it is all relative. When I bought my house the euro was around 1.45 and I actually got an exchange of 1.50 at one point. In sterling the house cost £112000 so given the current falling pound 129000 euros probaby works out about £125000 so that is still a profit. as has already been said if you are not selling then the house is still the same. It must be difficult for those people who have to sell  - having to give up the dream.
