Hi Pikey,

I went out in january all doom and gloom im afraid, no work being carried out by Aifos they cant get money from the bank to finish the project and not likley to in the near future.I had various conversations with my estate agent who came up with wonderful ideas about getting rid but it was going to cost me more money and I was ending up with property i didnt want.

I have decided to write off the money and not chase it with good money and if  Aifos can raise money and finish part of the project i will treat it as a bonus but dont hold your breath.

SORRY

Regards Jim

Hi there everybody,

Some news for us all,i have just recieved information that may help.

AIFOS AVOIDS SECOND ADMINSTRATION PROCEEDURE

"On thursday 26th feb ,was the scheduled day for the hearing on Aifoss second proposed adminisration proceedure.Only minutes before the hearing was due to take place befoe Malaga s Mercantile Court Number 1 ,Aifoss legal representatives strike a agreement with the legal representatives of the petitioner.Aifoss lawyers provided guarantees of payment that amounted to 311,000 euros which were accepted.

Mr Enrique Bujidos ,an Aifoss representative.declared to the press that they had hired PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC) to refinance the ailing developer and help it stand back on its own feet.Thirteen banks have already shown their interest on providing a syndicated loan to the developer as well as adjouring pending repayments."

This information was given to me by my agent ,suggest you check it out with yours.

Just came back from spain site the same and Aifos still trading on the Hacienda dev.

Maybe just maybe a light at the end of the tunnel,

john

Hi John,

Sorry to throw water on the flames but just spoken to my estate agent in Spain he reckons your latest news about Aifos just prolongs the inevitable by about 2 months.I do hope he is wrong but I cant see it.

In Sympathy with everybody.

Aifos Avoids Second Forced Administration Procedure

February 27th, 2009 @ 01:02 by raymundo

Today, Thursday 26th of February, was the scheduled day for the hearing on Aifos’ second proposed administration procedure. Only minutes before the hearing was to take place before Malaga’s Mercantile Court Number 1, Aifos’ legal representatives striked an agreement with the legal representatives of the petitioner. Aifos’ lawyers provided guarantees of payment that amounted to €311,000 which were accepted.

Mr Enrique Bujidos, an Aifos’ representative, declared to the press they had hired PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to refinance the ailing developer and help it stand back on its own feet. Thirteen banks have already shown their interest in providing a syndicated loan to the developer as well as adjourn pending repayments.

The information comes from the source we quoted in our text.- http://es.biz.yahoo.com/26022009/4/economia-empresas-aifos-sortea-concurso-acreedores-alcanzar-acuerdo-acreedores.html

What we can confirm is that they have averted successfully the second forced administration procedure. But what stops there from being a third one? And then a fourth? And then a...

Only last week an AIFOS employee who had been laid off threatened to bonzo himself at AIFOS HQ because he had not been paid.

Regarding the syndicated loan we give it no more importance than what it has.- an AIFOS's press release. Nothing confirmed, nothing signed, all good words: classic AIFOS style.

John, do tell your agent not to edit our texts, such as the one you've posted above which has been tampered with, and try to pass them on as his own intellectual work. Otherwise its just plagiarism, which is a pursuable Criminal offence in Spain, with which, unfortunately, we are very familiar.

We don't mind anyone using our legal articles, posts and blogs on their own websites but always both crediting the lawyer whose written them and also placing a working link back to our own website.

Thank you.

Hi John, Got the same info that U got from Lawbirds my estate agent is Casablanca Estates and they came up with all kinds of wonderful ideas and possible swaps for my apartment in Derby. Its funny though they all seemed to be in their favour and I kept feeling I was digging a bigger hole for myself and they were quite happy helping.I have come to the conclusion that u cant trust anybody in Spain. Hi to you all,

just come back from spain and heard that Aifos are building again and have recruited building teams ,they are building on two sites, unfortunately hippodromo is not one of them.

It would be prudent to contact Aifos to find out what is the up to date situation

Hi All

We returned from Spain yesterday and was advised by our lawyer that Aifos have started building again but only in the North and that two banks have lent them monies.  Our lawyer did not know when they will be commencing building work at the Hipodromo and told us to review the situation in six months time.  We put our deposit down in 2002 and we now feel we should be having  answers  to when the site will be  finally completed instead of being told it will get done but how long is a piece of string. No work has been carried out on the site since December 2007 and we cannot get into the site as it is locked up by the security guard.  On Monday we went to the Mijas Town Hall to find out if there has been any contact from Aifos and we was told no contact has been made from them and no paperwork presented so the situation still remains the same.  We was advised if we can get enough people together who are buying a property at the Hipodromo or any other Aifos site a meeting can be arranged with the Mijas Council to find out how they can help us and if there was enough people we would visit the Aifos office in Malaga and involve the local press ie SUR Magazine as we feel enough is enough now and need to make a stand as the situation has dragged on for so long now and if we dont start making some noise this will carry on and on.  We cannot do this on our own and if anyone would like to support us we are planning a visit to Spain 13th-17th July and we would appreciate if anyone is interested to send a private message.

Thanks in advance.

Cathy & Mike

Hi Cathy and Mike,

I, likewise and my friend, also bought on Hipodromo, so we are in the same situation as yourselves. we are prepared to travel out on the dates mentioned, providing there are enough of us to make it worthwhile, if that will make it worthwhile?

I will speak with my Spanish Lawyer to see if he has any other Hipodromo Clients that would be willing to attend,

Regards,

Terry.

Hi All

Many thanks to those who have so far responded to me with positive feedback.  Unfortunately at the moment there is not enough of us to make the trip worthwhile to Spain as we do need more vocal support to stand up against Aifos.

If anyone else can definitely join us during the week of 13th to 17th July please post me a private message as we really do want to try and sort out this ongoing situation.

Kind regards

Cathy
