Hi All

Following on from my email yesterday - friends of ours who live in Spain went up to the Hipodromo site today and saw the Derby apartment being occupied by gypsies.  They did not want to go any further but definitely said they are gypsies living in the apartment block as they saw a line of clothes being hung out.  Makes you laugh to think after all these years when we was not allowed to go on site to our apartment due to building work going on that gypsies have now moved into our apartment before us! What a joke this is now becoming and as per the norm no-one seems to careless.

Kind regards Cathy

Hi All

If there is anyone still out there who is at all concerned about their apartment  I have some grave news.  Friends of ours who are currently on holiday in spain went up to the Hipodromo site on Friday 29/01/10 and found the lock on the gate cut in 3 places, no security guard on site so they walked through and was horrified to discover that the 4 apartment blocks have been completely trashed.  Gypsies have gone into Derby, Alazan, Ascot and starting on Brida and have smashed all the windows, the patio doors, took window frames out, stripped out all copper wires and copper pipes, removed the fuse boxes that was inside and outside the apartments, the walls and some of the ceilings have been smashed so basically the site now looks like a war zone.  Our friends went down to the cemetery to film this on their mobile phone and in that time they saw gypsies smashing the windows and copper pipes being thrown into trucks.   Before they went down to film this our friend was sitting in her vehicle outside the main gate and she had to move because the gypsies wanted to get into the site.  We brought our apartment seven years ago and to be waiting all this time and to hear what has now happened is very distressing.  Aifos, the local authorities and administrators do not seem to care or are not aware of what is happening after all there is no security guard on the site.  We have contacted our solicitor to find out legally where do we go from here and I suggest if anyone is at all concerned to do exactly the same.

Regards

Cathy

We totally totally agree with john newton's comments.  Since finding out today that Aifos has gone into bankruptcy (google Aifos bankruptcy and you will read about it) we should now all be sitting up and actually do something about it.  We can  only hope that the courts will go in our favour and secure the completion of the hipodromo and other sites or get our money back but we are in for a very long wait and this time everybody should be contacting their solicitor to start finding out what they should do next unless you are not at all bothered about losing your money or property. Time to wake up everyone. Cathy & Mike

Hi All

Many thanks to those who have so far responded to me with positive feedback.  Unfortunately at the moment there is not enough of us to make the trip worthwhile to Spain as we do need more vocal support to stand up against Aifos.

If anyone else can definitely join us during the week of 13th to 17th July please post me a private message as we really do want to try and sort out this ongoing situation.

Kind regards

Cathy

Hi All

We returned from Spain yesterday and was advised by our lawyer that Aifos have started building again but only in the North and that two banks have lent them monies.  Our lawyer did not know when they will be commencing building work at the Hipodromo and told us to review the situation in six months time.  We put our deposit down in 2002 and we now feel we should be having  answers  to when the site will be  finally completed instead of being told it will get done but how long is a piece of string. No work has been carried out on the site since December 2007 and we cannot get into the site as it is locked up by the security guard.  On Monday we went to the Mijas Town Hall to find out if there has been any contact from Aifos and we was told no contact has been made from them and no paperwork presented so the situation still remains the same.  We was advised if we can get enough people together who are buying a property at the Hipodromo or any other Aifos site a meeting can be arranged with the Mijas Council to find out how they can help us and if there was enough people we would visit the Aifos office in Malaga and involve the local press ie SUR Magazine as we feel enough is enough now and need to make a stand as the situation has dragged on for so long now and if we dont start making some noise this will carry on and on.  We cannot do this on our own and if anyone would like to support us we are planning a visit to Spain 13th-17th July and we would appreciate if anyone is interested to send a private message.

Thanks in advance.

Cathy & Mike
