SKY SATELLITE

Hi,

can anyone who has had Sky put into their apartment please advise me on;

1. Who do we contact- is there one firm handling all La Reserva installations.(do you go through CommunityAdministrators?

2. We do not have Sky here in UK so is it cheaper to buy a Sky box to bring out from UK or just buy the box in Spain?

Any help would be appreciated trying to gen up so we can get this organised the next time we are out.

Any long term residents-is Andy's still doing ok? as it is the best thing to happen for our part of the development.

p.s.  I have also heard that there is more movement to get our complex legalised so hopefully 2009 could be our year at last!

Hope you and hubby are both well, must be cold up your way. You need to ring 0034 952058073 and ask for Yolanda who speaks english. They are the company approved by the administarators. You can get a sat box from them, or from any electric retailer. If you don't have Sky at home i would probably ask Yolanda to supply one then at least you know it works when the men are there.

We imported are box from the uk, it works ok without a card   all the freeview channels, if you want to watch sport there are plenty of bars around.

Good news if we are finally there with the licenses  MARCH 09,  3 years later!!!!!  nerves in tatters!!!!! It's interesting how all the doom and gloom comments have stopped as the UK hit the fan, seems like everyone is in the same boat!!

I had sat tv installed by the company who gas the contract for the communial dishes. It was about €200 plus the cost of the box. As stated by James

I get an excellent picture. If it goes down at all it is normally fixed same day if its reported soon enough.

There are a lot of private dishes springing up despite the rules of the urbanisation fordbiding this practice

You can bring your own box, but i do know that some older boxes sometimes do not work.

Hello all, just wondering, the 200Euros you paid for the satellite plush dish cost, is that per year or is it a one off fee?

Also how much are the dishes?

The Satellite system here is comunial one if you want Sky, the charges are for installation and the box/system you choose. There are no monthly charges and the cost of dish maintenace is met from the urbanisation charges.

Someone told she organises it.

How much was the total cost for all of it after you had paid for box. Was basic 200 euros just to have wires installed? You say you get an excellant picture which Manzana are you in?

yes thats correct, Yolanda mans the desk at the company. €200 was what they charged me for connection, the wiring is already in the blocks and just needs to be pulled through

and then they connect it in the mains box.  The cost of a SKY box is not included You an buy from them or bring your own. There are no charges after that.

I was thinking of getting Satellite installed this past January buthave been told that Digital TV is about to be launched. Does anyone have any info on this please? What euipment would I need? How do I connect? Is the signal from sky better??? Any help greatly appreciated, I am in Manzna 3, Bloque 5
