Hi Everyone

We've just returned from DV and had a week of lovely weather.  We were only able to use the pool by block 10 on one occasion as by 8 am in the morning all 19 sun beds had been reserved with towels on.  The people reserving these beds did not appear until lunch time.  I was so cross that I've taken pictures and will be posting them on the web site.  Most of the people appeared to be holiday rentals.  We then had to go and buy 2 fold up sun beds.  We only wanted to use the pool for the morning as we had our grandchildren with us and were spending the afternoon on the beach so the people who reserved them could have had the beds back again by the time they ventured down to the pool.  We went to the AEA office in the port and complained and asked for more beds.  I then phoned them again a couple of days later as no extra beds had appeared and was told that they had to ask the president!  I'm sure that there were twice as many beds there during the early part of July when we were last over so where have they gone?  There only seemed to be about 30 beds by the large pool at the bottom and these were also all taken.  49 sun beds for a place as large as DV is totally ridiculous.   People were laying on lilos and towels and proping up beach umbrellas.  I have never seen so many people around the pool before.  Last August was nothing like it and nobody was reserving beds then.  Perhaps if sufficient sun beds were provided people wouldn't feel the need to reserve the beds though. There were a lot more cars in our car park and the village was much busier. The 2 new pools between blocks 18/20 and 16/17 are not yet in use although they are filled with water.  I've asked the question as to when they will be open as we were told that block 18/20 pool was waiting the for licence back at the beginning of July and it was imminent, but we've been told that AEA have to ask the developer!  There are no sun beds by these pools yet.  On our last day, Saturday 9th August a padlock appeared on the into the pool, but the beds were all reserved shortly after this was unlocked.  I hope my complaints work and that those of you just about to visit DV find a sun bed without a towel!

I'm sure you're right Ann and that there were more beds by both pools last time we were out.  Perhaps some are now on peoples' terraces?  I did notice one lounger had been moved to one of the unopened pools and I saw the same guy on it every day but you can't blame people for moving beds when there aren't enough by all of the pools.  We need a lot more as there are more than half the apartments unoccupied at present and we are already having problems!

Hi Everyone

I've just received a reply from AEA to say that more sun beds have been put around the pool.  I have no idea how many though.  Apparently they are also mentioning to the guards that sun beds are not to be reserved with towels on.  I'm sure that if there are sufficient sun beds then people won't feel the need to reserve them with towels.  They are still saying that the two new pools will be open when the developer has the licence.  I have no idea when that will be as the licence for the block 18/20 pool was supposed to be immenent back in July.

Have just had a quick look through the posts and can't see any sign of this, so thought I'd let you know!!!  There are now signs around the pools that sunbeds may not be reserved and any personal belongings left on sunbeds (and the beds not being used) will be removed after TEN minutes!!!  Personally, I think that's a little tight - especially as it could take you that long just to nip back to your apartment to get your suncream!! - but at least signs have been put up.

Now, as to whether anyone pays the slightest bit of notice is another point!!  Because even after these signs were posted, people were still reserving sunbeds!!!

And, yes, more beds were definitely supplied around the pool behind block 10, but I fear they may be moved to the upper pools once they are complete!
