understanding spanish written word

I regularly get letters from my bank in spain and they are in Spanish which I have not a notion as to what they are saying, is there a translation service available or can I ask the bank to translate, any help ?   -  (pat)

If you have problems with something the bank has sent you - go in and ask them to translate - they will. If they dont transfer to another bank but when you look to do to another bank ask the question first - do you provide information in my language?

Otherwise for a bit of help l have always used http://babelfish.altavista.com it gives me a good idea of what the words and phrases are all about.

l cant tell from your profile where you are from - but in the part of CDS l am from the CAJAMAR and many of the other banks are targeting English speaking clients and most of their websites and on-line banking sites are also in english

 

Hi - I have my account with Bancaja and was told that I would get my statements in English - well the bit that tries to sell me new services is in English but the actual transactions are in Spanish!  The website and internet banking are the same. 

I'm beginning to find my way round it with the help of my spanish lessons and a dictionary but the hardest part was not knowing the name of the utility companies where my lawyer had set up all my direct debits.  I recognised Securitas but didn't know what Iberdrola or Aquagest Levante were!

It all adds to the fun!!

 

We are with Solbank, their website is available in English and all their transactions with us, both written and spoken, are done in English. They have provided us with a first class service in the 3 years we have been a customers.
