I think you might be as mad as us alexmac  - look forward to meeting you & Chris sometime. Be a good night out I suspect .

OK - daughter is currently planning where I can take her & her friend on trips out  - anyone any idea if the water park near Murcia city has been opened yet? We saw it from the motorway at Easter but the slide was a drop to nowhere & obviously not finished. Would appreciate any info as I'm being organised ruthlessly by 2 x 15 year olds!

Cheers.

Hi All

Any news on the water park yet? It's supposed to be opening mid June according to a paper I read on last visit. If it's not the one in Torreveja isn't that far away is it? Someone posted a map a while ago with directions but can't find it now. Anyone know?

Also my Mum & Dad took a boat trip from Santago over to La Manga and said it was very nice. Might be worth a try too.

The guy on Trevor Mcdoughnut's programme looked very familiar to me when he was interviewed having trouble with the sale of his house. Then realised we'd had Sunday lunch the week before in his bar. It was Buddy's bar and they do a lovely roast. My hubby was impressed as they had football on at the same time  It's in Santiago. We are over last two weeks of August, unlike you lucky things that can go for longer.  .

Hi Annie,

Looks very nice doesn't it? Well done on the taxi info, looks like we'll be set for the summer now.

Russell on Mar Menor Restaurants is looking for Indian recommends so told him you are the specialist on these so let him know.  Wonder if the new water park has opened yet. Haven't heard have you?

Thank you for the info on Aquopolis water park. Very helpful.

Just wondering when the new one in Murcia will be open, if it isn't already. Have googled but can't find anything. Will dig out the paper I brought back with me from Spain for the name. It did say June but who knows??

Hi Gina

Have just been googling to see if I could find out anything about the water park in Murcia but can't find any info.

To change the subject a bit though have just uncovered the reason behind my first spanish pay as u go sim not working. Apparently you have to top them up regularly & if you leave it longer than 6 months you will lose the number & have to purchase a new sim. Guess the best way to do it is to top up each time we're over by a small amount. At least I now know what they were trying to explain to me in the moviestar shop .

Hi bobaol

I don't think thats the same one. There is a theme park on the way out of Murcia City (think it's a Terra Natura one? animals anyway) that was opened at Easter. Apparently there is to be a water park attached to it due to open this june. We saw the water slides from the motorway last time we went to Nuevo but it obviously wasn't finished. Seems to be really difficult to find much info about it.

A little information regarding Terra Natura and Aqua Natura in Murcia

Aqua Natura, the first water park in Murcia, opens its doors to the public on Friday 22nd June.

The park, which is part of the zoo Terra Natura held its official opening ceremony on Wednesday. Seven hundred children from different schools in the region, chosen at random, were invited to be the first to try it out.

The water park is 30,000m2 and is based on the archiplego of the Zanzibar Pacific. It is split into three different areas;

l One with slides (10 slides which includes the Kamikaze ride);
l The "lazy river" where you can relax and let the water take you along. This area includes a solarium where you can rent sunbeds;
l The swimming pools (with a separate one for kids).
There is also a recreation area with a self-service restaurant and picnic areas.

The price of a combined ticket which includes a visit to the zoo Terra Natura and Aqua Natura is:

Children (4-12) 16.50 Euros
Adults (13-59) 22.50 Euros
Pensioners (60+) 15.00 Euros

Terra Natura is located in Espinardo, Murcia right next to the University Campus. Take the
Universidad de Murcia (Salida 136) off the A-30 Cartagena to Murcia road and the park is well signposted.
The address is C/ Regidor Cayetano Gago S/N (30100) Espinardo, Murcia.
Information from the Costa Calida Reporter
