shortly will need to think about furnishing a 3 bed 2 bath townhouse.

what is the best way of doing this ?

buying all furniture from uk and move over or buying in spain?

how do costs compare?

any idea of total budget for whole house furnishings ?

thanks for your help

A lot has been said on this subject.

SORRY I BEG TO DIFFER

Furniture in Spain was very expensive but we went out to furnish our apartment a few weeks back and as the market is slow there are great deals to be had

EXAMPLE         New Model 36" Philips Flat Screen H>D Ready T.V    699 euros        they go from 499 euros for 36"

Italian sofa bed with machine seatee top knotch gear arond 1,950 euros

Double bed with two singles which can be made into 4 singles 1,200 euros

Excellent Italianmarble dining suite with solid oak chairs 1,700 euros

You can buy much cheaper if its just for lets but we wanted top gear and they are prepared to haggle.

So is IKEA decent or cheap, or can it be half decent and a bit cheap ?

More importantly where can I find a leather corner sofa bed somewhere not too far from Playa Flamenca ? (I'll need somewhere to sleep when I've had too many sangrias)

Hi Scrufty,

you can kip on my sofa anyday!

It's not top notch, but I did upgrade from the furniture pack so it's quite comfortable!

If I had of bought expensive gear, you would not be sleeping on it Scrufty!

All in all, I found that the packs were very good, if you upgrade on a few of the bits, everything is more than adequate.

Rgds,

Thanks for the offer, did I mention that the completion on my apartment was delayed by 2 years, so I hope your sofas comfy.

Anyway I'm not doing a furniture pack , the stuff we were sent wasn't up to much and quite pricey so I'm thinking of this wonderful European made furniture quite unique in design, it's from a country near Norway so I'm sure it will have an interesting possibly even a Scandinavian look.  And you even have a chance to participate in the making of the furniture to help you feel more at home with your purchases, so as I like jigsaws I can't wait.

Hi Scrufty (and your Dad)

Furniture sounds nice that you are getting, do you have to go to Scandinavia to help make it?! Cold over there isn't it, brrrr, rather be here in sunny Espania making jigsaws. (New pics of El Rincon on EOS later today......)

Guess what I found in my lounge his morning....thought you said you were coming at Easter?

Now we all know what you look like, watch out for this man, somewhere on a sofa near you!!

All that mention of a bikini made me try on my speedos again and I spent 3 hours tonight in the local A&E having them surgically removed and now the local police have placed an ASBO on all my swimwear  !!!!!!

Scrufty, you do make me laugh!
