Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if it is mandatory to employ a Fiscal Rep to complete tax returns, when you own more than one property?

Hi Marcia, welcome.

That's what I've always understood, yes.

We do have lawyers posting on the forum if you need the answer from a lawyer, however.

 Since the beginning of 1994; Fiscal Representatives are not necessary for foreigners.

I am a little concerned by Mar Durio's responses.  A fiscal representative is required where 2 or more properties are involved and the Base Imponible for payment of tax is not the Base Imponible on theIBI but based on the Valor Catastral (1.1% if revalued after 1994, otherwise 2%).  Tax is then payable at 24%.
