Bank Second Line Security ID

Hi every one,

For my sins I bank with Santander and used to use a Pay as you go mobile for the secondary ID. Unfortunately the contract has lapsed and now the bank sends any second line security ID to the dead phone number.

I cannot re instate the defunct number nor can I get to Spain to validate a new number.

All I get is a computerised message and Santander do not reply to correspondence..

SO NOW I CANNOT EVEN ACCESS THE ACCOUNT.. Is there anyway I can get round this by getting Santander to send second ID to my English mobile.. EG Via Zoom etc . Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried emailing them?

Yes I have and to the address you kindly suggested.

And have posted letter by regular mail to my branch in Spain.

Have sent another email today as well.

I had a problem with my Spanish bank I rang HQ in Madrid waste of time .in the end I was sending 5 emails a day to the local branch. It got sorted after a week of emails. I was with Deutsche Bank. Never Again

How did your contract end on a Pay as you GO phone? Surely no contract just top ups.

Unfortunately it was a pay as you go just for the bank use.(As it had to be a  spanish mobile..)

And as it had lapsed for more than 120 days it cannot be re instated..

The problem is with Santander and only one way of authentication and insistence of having to go in branch..And the fact that it must be a spanish phone...We have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will have to wait until we can visit Spain. And to be honest we will probably sell the apt and close ac as we don't need this sort of hassle.
