property advice - do I need permission?

Hi, I am new to this site. I have recently bought a small ground floor apartment in Lo Pagan. Do I need permission from the local Municipality before I repaint / refresh the external render or can I just go ahead and do it? I had to get permission to carry out internal works but have received conflicting advice about whether redecorating does.

Also can any one reccomend an efficient english speaking firm of solicitors in the San Pedro del Pinatar or San Javier area - I want some one that actually responds to calls and letters!

The only way you will ever really know is to go and ask at the townhall, seemingly Spain's answer to every question. You may luck out and find the info on the town hall's website buried in a pdf somewhere but I wouldn't hold my breathe on that one.

Best to just go and ask or call them perhaps?

My advise is to go to the Local Council and ask: easy and simple and will save you uncertainty and problems
