Moving to Spain from the Philippines

Good day, I and my family are looking to move to Spain from the Philippines in the next 4 months I was wondering what you would recommend for a family with 2 kids.

I'm originally from the UK and been back working in the UK since January. My wife is from the Philippines and the anti-immigration rules relating to payslips and a UK bank account statements has meant it would take me a minimum of 9 months to move the family to the UK. At the same time being back in the UK I would say "what is the point?". Spain seems a far better option and if Alicante flights into London, Glasgow, Birmingham etc. are right I would say I could commute the route.

Any advice on rentals, schooling and best places to live are greatly appreciated as well as any other advice!
