Kim,

There are at least 27% unemployed in Spain and over 50% of young people who are without work.   In the main they are being helped by their families and friends, not the State.

I would suggest that with all the help you are getting from the taxpayers in the UK  ( child tax credit, child benefit, employment and support allowance-income based, disability with low mobility and high care component and my husband gets carers allowance)   that you stay there..

If you cant get a proper answer from anyone then it's obvious you are asking the wrong people, the correct people are the people you are getting all these benefits from.

Do you think you will fulfill the criteria to sign on the foreigners register. Requirements are that you prove you have an adequate income and substantial savings?

Have you thought about what would happen if anything happened to your carer? Could you afford to hire someone? What about specialised treatment you may require?

Do you realise what is involved in schooling for your children, and the costs involved, even in a state school?

What if anything happened to you ? your family would be left without free health care, as they are reliant on you.

Why not just enjoy holidays in Spain, without all the stress of a permanent move?
