I would like to buy 2 x  24 volt deep cycle,  sealed, lead-acid, maintenance free,  rechargeable batteries but can't seem to find out how to ask for them in Spanish I was told to ask for "Bateria de ciclo profundo",  however, someone else said that this was incorrect.

Has anybody any ideas. I live in Andalucia east of Malaga.

Thank-you

Paula

this type of battery  you want is typically used on boats so might be better to try a boat yard

the translation you have seems fine

i wonder why you need these batteries which are designed to cope with heavy continous use as in boats

if you cant get one if you are near to a mains electric source just use a battery charger to charge contiuosly if not solar panals are quite cheaqp i maplins these days so may be a solution thus making the battery think it is normal use

then you could use ordinary car batteries much cheaper than deep discharge

and dont waste your money on long life guarantee batteries they are a con all they do is put in a pretty box lol

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying. You seem to know what you are talking about so thank-you again for your help.

I have a rather good inverter which can run a computer, television, telephone and printer all for around 7 or so hours when the electricity is cut off. It does need these rather good batteries in order to get the long run out of it. My friend (not in Spain) tells me other batteries have been tried but are not nearly good enough and don't last as long. It lives in the house so sealed batteries are required and non maintenance batteries also.

Kind Regards

Paula

I have been to a boat yard and they are supposed to be ringing me when they have them.
