After plenty of thought we have decided to let our townhouse out for the first time (scary). Just wondered how we stand regarding personal accidents in the property. Do I need some special insurance to cover people staying in the property. Not to worried about breakages to furnature. More concerned about pesonal iability cover. Would appreciate any advice or experiences.

Hi Collettepaul,
I was concerned about this too and rang my insurers to check.
personal liability up to roughly 1,000,000 GB pounds was included, but check with your own insurer, as they may differ.

Most insurance policies include some kind of third party liability, but I would make very sure that your household policy allows you to rent the property for holidays - some policies have exclusions for this kind of use. Just a warning.
