hi i have sky t.v in my apartment its my holiday home when we go back to the uk we pull the plug out to the t.v and sky when we return we can never get sky the t.v says no signal are we doing wrong by pulling out the plug if so why hope you can help

Sky boxes are twitchy at best!

And here in Spain even more so.

Some boxes operate better than others when it comes to signal reception.

Once you have reconnected the power at the mains, try leaving it for 5 mins or so in standby mode, then switch it on with the Sky remote.

Also, if you use a card in the box, take it out before you leave, then after you have reconnected the power at the mains, re-insert the card and then leave it for 5 mins before switching on with the Sky remote.

In the UK, Sky always recommend that you leave your box in standby mode so they can automatically update the software for you.

So if your box is left off for long periods of time, then it may need a software update, but try the above first.

You might find the attached link and topic useful. If you leave a SKY box off for a long while it defaults back to factory setting. Bit fiddly to follow the attached instruction to get it back. Depends where you are in Spain.
