Goverment Bicycle hire at the beach in Costa Calida

Does anybody know how to hire a bicycle from the local town hall ,its a new incentive by the goverment any ifo would be helpful I seen the bikes in lo pagan?

Hi - it is a free service and I had a look at the instructions last time I was down at Lo Pagan.  With apologies in case my spanish was not up to the mark, I think the system is as follows: 

• you have to register with the service - details are on the bike racks
• there are locked racks along the coast with the bikes docked into them
• when you want to use a bike you send them a text with the code of the particular bike and they unlock it from the rack
• there are several sites where you can return the bike, and again you text them and they lock the bike to the new rack.

I'm told that there are similar schemes in other parts of Europe - what a good way of getting people to take more exercise!
