market stall

 Hi there

we are thinking about moving to the VillaMartin area and are keen to set up a market stall at the main markets..... does anyone know how we would start to go about doing this? If anyone has any info that would be great. Hope to hear from you! Many thanks

Hi Norks and welcome to the forum.

There are two local markets run by the council - one at Playa Flamenca on a Saturday and the other at Campoamor on a Thursday.  I have been told that it is extremely difficult to get a pitch there and you need to apply in Spanish to Orihuela Costa town hall.  It might be worth talking to some of the UK stallholders to get more info.

There are many car boot sales springing up so that may be the best way to start, while waiting for your pitch and traders licence.

Thanks for replying - really appreciate it, I'm sure it's going to be quite a procedure  and anything to do with Spanish bureaucracy is going to be challenging! But I shall start putting out feelers and if anyone actually knows anyone who has a pitch I'd love to hear from you!

There a MASSIVE Sunday market called the CAMPO DE GUARDAMAR market, off the CV895 (Lemon Tree road outside Guardamar) that has a number of stalls recently closed down presumably due to lack of interest. When I say MASSIVE I mean that! 1000 stalls give or take, supposedly.

I'm going to our market (the Campo de Guardamar one) next Sunday &, if I have the chance, I'll ask my friend who has a cafe there for details of who to contact. I should be able to find something out with luck.

Currently though in Spain we're not online in our home but I'm hoping to have it installed as soon after we arrive as possible so I will follow the thread, Celia.

I guess you will need licences from each Town Hall relevant to the market you plan to work in.
