Does anybody know the name of the restaurant that  is on the right hand side of the road, on your way up to Guadelest. I am sure that there are a couple but this one was pointed out as being very nice, when I was on a "blanket trip", however,  I have forgotten the name. Can anyone help?

Hi, I know you posted a while ago so may have the answer already.

The restaurant I think you are talking about is Xorta. I have pasted below details from Villaspain website where I first saw it.

XORTA Caratterra Alcoy-Callosa, Guadalest. Tel: 96 588 5187
If you are planning to visit the fortress at Guadalest then have lunch at this restaurant which is perched on the roadside, to the right, just below the village and has spectacular views. There are many similar restaurants on the way up but do try this well recommended friendly family run one that serves good paellas and speciality pot roasts.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for the reply, we are off to Spain in 2 weeks so we will try to get there. We have heard so many good reports about it. Thanks again.

If you can get there then do, it is like time stood still in this village. The views are breathtaking and the food at  Xorta was really delicious and reasonable, we had Paella. Also nearby are the waterfalls, Fonts de Algar which is in Callosa d'En Sarria. Take your swimming gear so you can take a dip as the water is warm in the summer.  I got all this info and more about the area from the company I booked with last year and again last month which really enhanced our holiday.

Have a great time.

Regards

Nick
