Can I ask the full time residents (or anyone else that has experience of the Spanish postal service) what you do about the postal delivery? I ask because when we bought our apartment on Resort, we all have pigeon holes inside the main gate for post. When we completed, there was a letter in there from 2006 and nothing else. Not a worry as we had only just purchased.

I heard a rather worrying story from residents on AA Hill that they used to have to go to Vera Post Office to collect their mail from a nice lady. I was then told that the lady left, to be replaced by some bloke and after that, no post was ever held at the office. The theory then is that any post with a return address was sent back to sender and anything else was "binned". Is there any mileage in that theory do you think? I have sent myself a letter to see what (if anything) happens or if it comes back to me. The person telling the story said they had to rent a mailbox in Garrucha for a reliable mail service. Seems a bit OTT to me?

Mark,
The post office only deliver when they have a substantial amount of mail.If you want reliable post ,I am led to believe that you will have to rent a Post box with a number and collect from that point.

Thanks Ken, I had heard that as well. Not living out there, I am not expecting a lot of post, not enough I would have thought to rent a post box address. It would be annoying however to not get any important letters from the bank, electricity, water, etc!

I'll have to have a think about this one.

We bank with Caja Murcia and all charges debited from our account have an Adobe logo next to them which we can click on and display the bill, including the useage, tariff, etc for our water and electric.  They also do the same with our mortgage payment and bank charges.   Just wish banks in the UK did this too!

As a result, we don't feel the need to worry that we are missing much in our postbox apart from the usual flood of junk mail.  It may well be that your bank offers a similar service or you can log into your account online and see a breakdown of the charges?  Seasun have always communicated via e-mail as well as post so the only thing left we can think of to worry about would be IBI.

Hope this helps
