Always good when someone takes the time to say "Thank You"

I did it for all those, like me, who have turned right along the coast road out of Almeria airport (you can see the motorway, you just can't see the signs for it) and driven into a town where major roadworks seem to be going on and you reach a dead end. 

I also hold my hand up to joining the A7 instead of the AP7 to try and get back to Murcia Airport, searching for that elusive fuel station at journey's end whilst running out of time (the car hire company provided an "upgrade" with the proviso it was brought back full) and using (almost) every profanity known to mankind as time ran out and I became increasingly stressed.

Sue  Although you now know where to fill up before returning your car at Murcia airport it's worth notifying those that dont know that there is a petrol station just a couple of minutes drive down the road at San Javier. I have found it easier to find by simply heading north at the final roundabout before entering the airport, just drive straight on and you can't miss it on the left hand side. If paying by credit card they often require proof of identity.

when returning to Almeria I usually use the one at the san Juan junction (A7) which is about 20k before the airport.

I never made it to the petrol station so the info you supplied will come in handy if I ever agree to return a car with a full tank again.  Kenshaz - is the route to the town straight on over the island and past the petrol station?  Chillin' in the sun sounds like a much better way to end a visit to Thalassa than hanging around in the airport terminal - will try it next time

The get together at the wok buffet on Monday was a great success - 22 people in all from about 9 apartments - everyone seemed to enjoy themselves & we only moved when the staff started sweeping up around us!!!
